I tore my acl last year, and after 6 months of therapy my balance is a lot better because of the balance excercises. i suggest working out on a half bosu ball. stand with on foot on something that requires balance and have someone throw a ball while balancing. Really helped me out.
... Whaaaaaaaaat? Anyways, to whoever did: it may seem stupid, but just go faster and look toward the end of the rail until you've finished sliding it.
Well, i know this might not be your case, but if your skis aren't center mounted, that could be what's throwing you off balance, as there is more weight on one side of your skis. This was my problem last year. Other than that, just do what everyone before me have already said :)
