So, when searchingbarring the only thread I found was from 2005:

Holy shit, that was awhile ago and technology has come a long way. Same with the prices!! So I thought I would make an entirely new thread dedicated to these awesome devices. For Christmas, I got this little puppy here:
It's a Wacom Bamboo Splash Pen.I have basically replaced my mouse with it to get comfortable with it. So far I've found it pretty awesome. Basically once you hover the tip of the stylus/pen just over 1/2" above the surface of the tablet, it will move the computer's cursor. Then a quick tap, or a click of the bottom button acts as a click, holding the bottom button down acts as a 'pan' to scroll on websites, and the top button acts as a right click. You can highlight text and images by putting the stylus to the tablet, and then dragging to select. That sums up it's use for basic computer browsing.
The only real drawing and design I have done has all been in AutoCAD. I loaded the included Autodesk SketchBook and haven't done much drawing with it yet, but hope to sit down here and make a few basic drawings when I have time in the near future. From a first look when working in SketchBook, the tablet is entirely pressure sensitive, so the harder you draw, the thicker and darker your line will be. This is also adjustable in the Bamboo dock so you can adjust it to your drawing style. At first, simple things like writing your name seem really hard since you're not looking directly where your writing. I would also draw my name on a slant as well. After a good few nights of use of just browsing with the tablet though, writing my name, and making lines has become way easier.
Hopefully a few other NS'ers are using a draw tablet and can help me out and contribute some. If you guy's have some sick work, post it up! And any tips, hotkeys, or anything that will help with the whole experience would be appreciated!
