Jokes aside, the pivots have a turntable heel, metal heel piece, and a short mount.
The PX Ls aren't bad, they are still a nice binding. They have the same toe piece as the Pivots. It all depends on why kind of skier you are. Lighter, less aggressive go with the PX. If you are bigger charging hard and worry about staying in your binding go Pivots. They have a higher elastic travel so the boot will move before popping out.
You pretty much pay an extra $100 for a "nicer" heel piece. Nicer meaning that it can only fit a small range of boot sizes once mounted, it is a bitch when you break a brake, and the performance is very similar. But it comes in a cool color, which should be the reason to buy anything for skiing
Get the pivot. It may be annoying when they break, but from me I've broken the brake on my PXs at least 4 times. I'm so fucking sick of them at this point.
