what in the fuck. that sounds like a game people will become obsessed with and forfeit their current life to live through the game.

while watching that I came to the conclusion that if the game is ever made, I'd totally become a skier.


I've always wanted a game that has more freedom of choice. GTA would be a good model for this. My dream is a GTA: PNW where you have all your normal GTA shit with the cities of Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver with actual replicas of the city (Imagine if you lived in Portland and you could buy your actual house in the game), but also have the beaches for surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding and mountain biking in the Cascades... add a Sims type element to it as well... possibilities are endless.

On a global (or universal) scale though? That would take one serious computer to run.

GTA was fun in the open world sense beyond killing people. Always though it would be sick if it had racing as good as the best racing games, had skating as fun as the best skating games, like have every element be as good as the individual games.


Also thought about having a game that only cost like 5 bucks, but if you die, you die for real, and have to buy the game again.


I think for now what they're saying is just a dream but in the future I don't see it being hard to accomplish.

how the fuck would anyone program this. its all nice and dandy but it takes an infinate amount of programming. unlike the world, shit like this wont creat itself. it needs to be programmed

This would defiantly be possible with our current technology but would probably require pretty much every top level programmer and some crazy servers and level of data compression if each player had there own planet.

if there are no npc's, the absolute max number of players would be 7 billion, right? and if the in game universe is actual universe sized, i'm pretty sure it would be either hard to find other players or populations would be really condensed or something

Ha this is very similar to my ideal game.  I've always thought that the best game would be a complete and total sandbox.   You give the user thousands upon thousands of different objects, tools, scenarios and let them create whatever they want. The game itself would rely on what users create and be open source.  If you want to make a giant city filled with zombies make it! If you want to create a mountainous region that stretches for miles make it! You get the point =p  It's interesting to see others have similar ideas to mine
