In mid-2012, Steubenville Ohio players on the Big Red High School football team drugged a 16-year-old girl, urinated on her unconscious body, dragged and paraded her around at parties, and raped her. Most of the culprits went uncharged, but Anonymous is trying to change that.

I actually don't understand how you exist. Tell me, do you read a lot about our culture?

We do live in a culture of violence. That means that violence is accepted and defined as normal. For example, domestic violence in the music industry is accepted and not punished, sometimes is seen as a sign of a really passionate relationship. Violent video games are played by 10 year olds who don't second guess the images and actions on the screen. We are taught that violence is a solution. Thousands of children are killed internationally because of war and yet countries who would talk against violence do nothing to stop it. Violence isn't just shooting people for now reason. It's punching another kid because he talked shit to you, and thinking that is a solution. It's breaking up fist fights because boys will be boys etcetc.

Anyways. Even if it didn't exist, changing the culture we live in to be less violent, and to look down on violence against women even more, and especially those that commit or uphold standards and environments where this can exist - would ultimately help to create an even less violent community.

Telling women that shouldn't have to protect themselves against rape helps half of the worlds population express the freedom that they have as a basic human right - to not be raped.

Yes, and it's implying they should stop giving out good advice. Until we live in a world where violence doesn't exist, it's always a good idea to try to minimize your chances of getting assaulted.

Don't loiter in dangerous neighborhoods.

Don't present yourself as weak or vulnerable.

Carry mace, a taser, or another tool of self-defense.

Stick to populated, well-lit areas when walking alone.

you know that most rape is commited by someone that you know or trust?

there are circumstances in which women do not report rape because they feel responsible-- because they've been told they can prevent it, or they think it's their fault-- the whole point of the poster is to just say "rape is not the victims fault or responsibility to prevent-- so prevention needs to start with the assailant." But it's done in a cheeky/modern way that maybe today's youth or others will respond to.

You either a.) can't handle the concept of the poster entirely or b.) really like to argue

So, it's just a very poorly phrased way of saying getting raped is not your fault? The fact that the poster has good intentions doesn't make it any less stupid. Not only is its message blatantly obvious, but it uses a roundabout and inefficient way to convey that message. Its attempt to be clever fails horribly.

Overall poster qualiity: 1/10. One point for effort. Zero points for content.

1 of 4 women have been it will be sexually assaulted. Only 1 of 10 rapes are even reported and of those over 80% are by someone the girl knew. Less than 10% of all rapes include a male victim. Unless you are part of this 10% no one gives a shit how you feel about that poster. You are not likely the target that poster aims to help so who are you to say its worthless? You do get that, right?

Did you know that people in prison actually EARN money? When they do community service and other tasks, they legitimately make a profit. Some can earn enough money to buy candy bars, televisions, and some other goodies? I don't even get paid for my community service (not that I want to since I do it to give back to my community), and I'm not somebody who raped a fucking girl. It's disgusting. The majority of women/girls don't even admit to being a victim of rape. The emotional side to rape is far more complicated than any of you know. These boys or men need to be punished severely. This makes me sick to my stomach.

I kind of hate anonymous. I mean part of it is that they come off with this persona that they are like international police and it's their job to clean up the terrible world, but a big part of it is the people who think anonymous is a group of heros sent from above to protect us. Yes they deserve a way to earn money. Many have legal dues to pay, and some have to pay compensation to the state or USA. not to mention they make about a dime an hour and the majority of their money they earn goes to snacks, and shaving razors, oh and proper tampons if youre a woman. You are a fucking idiot for saying they don't deserve a way to make money. Truly that is fucking stupid. I am a republican, and think that the best thing we can do for our prison system is get rid of non violent drug offenders and create the prison to be more of a rehab. If you go to scandinavian countries their facilities are actually impressively nice and they have some of the lowest return rates for convicts.

I disagree with you. If somebody rapes a young female, or anybody for that matter, does not deserve candy bars, razors, and "proper tampons." Most people who are crazy enough to commit such terrible crimes don't just gain a right state of mind by being in a prison that is more of a "rehab."

You are just not smart. You are probably a high school age girl who has NO clue about how the american prison system functions. Not only are you a dumb, vapid, young girl, you are also a raging cunt. People do fucked up things doesn't mean they don't deserve proper treatment as human beings. Not to mention working in prison is a PRIVILEGE. It is offered to people who are doing well in prison and being model inmates. It's not handed out to the thugs or the gang bangers or the hustlers. It's offered to inmates who are going through their days of punishment. It's an amazing thing seeing as many of these men and women have no technical training going into jail but leave learning how to work wood working tools, large factory machinery, metal shops, sewing and fabric shops. It's giving these people an opportunity to find work when they do get out of prison to go and find a REAL job that isn't pushing drugs.

There are a lot of things fucked up with prisons in America. Offering inmates jobs, and jobs that are necessary and at an EXTREMELY low price to the government is probably one of the only good things about our prison system.

Read a fucking book, don't be such a vapid ignorant fuck if you are going to say people don't deserve something. You literally have no idea what you're talking about.

And as a woman for you to say they don't need proper tampons is one of the most disgusting and ignorant things I have ever fucking heard.
