Ok, so a couple of years ago now I think I drove out to school from Albany, heading toward Buffalo, and I saw a ski mountain off the Thruway to my left. Fairly decently sized for being off the thruway. And I can't remember if it was in business or not.
I still see it every time I go from Albany to Buffalo (or the other way) and I know it's not in business now.
I googled and can't find anything, even on the New England Lost Ski Areas website, so I'm hoping you can help.
I don't really know how much more info I can give. There is a billboard for Howe Caverns near this mountain. But the mountain isn't along route 88 where Howe Caverns is. It's along route 90 (the thruway.) If I had to guess, maybe between Little Falls and Utica? Not sure though. All I know is that it is literally right off the thruway. You can clearly tell it's a ski mountain.
Sorry I don't have more info, when I drive back out in a couple weeks I could get the nearest exit.
