What is your din at?

So this has always been a question of mine. I'm relatively good at skiing, i'd say just about average in the park, a little better. No doubles and stuff just 3's and 5's as of now because of early season, and like 270's off and on. Anyway enough of describing my "skill" i have always come into the trouble of my skis popping off a little too easy when i try a new trick. What are your din settings at? i know right now im probably at a seven. I ride the Look PX12. Too low or just right but im not used to it?

Take it to a shop and have them set it. Tell them what's happening. Chances are if you need to ask what your din should be, then you don't need to set it higher.

If you pop out when you shouldn't, its too low. If you don't pop out when it should, its too high. Its really not that difficult to understand

What's your height, weight, and boot sole length?  All of those things come into play.  If you're fully grown and aggressively trying new tricks, 7 might be a touch on the low side.

Yeah i mean it's not coming out randomly, more of when i land a trick and my boot usually just slides right out of my binding. My brother has video tapped me multiple times and when i fall it's usually a clean slide-out with no too much resistance.

I'm similar, but 185 and I ride at 11 man. If you're riding hard at those specs, 7 is very low. Take them to a shop and talk about an adjustment. I had the same issues in high school when I started getting more aggressive. The difference between 3 and 3+ was a big difference.

They are too low, check your forward release pressure, make sure its correct (google it if you dont know how) and crank um up to around 9 if thats still too low, just go up slowly until they dont pre release. Im 160 lbs with a 26.5 and mine where set by a shop to 9.5.

Yeah not sure what my FRP is right now because my skis are in Vermont and sadly i live in New Jersey, but everything should be correct because i had the shop mount my skis, adjust my din and everything with some high techy equipment so i'd let them figure it out.

As for anyone that helped, really appreciate it when i go skiing this weekend i'll definitely get my din adjusted to at least a 9 and work it from there. Anyone who really helped with this so far. here's a little +k for you. I'll let you all know how it goes, unless you don't care. that's ok also :3

boot sole length matters a lot.

since you have a size 28 boot, i'd say you don't need higher than 9 din

in a big crash though, you really do want those skis to come off, so dont ever blindly crank them up.

I have mine at 6, 5'5" 120lbs, 166cm skis, can't recall my bsl right now cause I haven't touched my gear in forever... But I've got small feet so the bsl is low.
