My parents got me just awful used and abused rentals twice when I was really little. I used them each probably 5 years at a time, upgrading boots in the process. (I only skied a few times a year when I was in elementary school) Then in middle school I started skiing with my schools ski club, and in 7th grade me and my buddy decided to sack up and hit our hills biggest jump. (Pretty much first table we ever hit.) We just lapped that thing for days, doing like the simplest grabs possible haha it was so fun. I came home and told my dad, and then he came up with the idea of getting my a season pass for my birthday. I never thought of the idea and was super stoked when he told me. Then in the summer, we went to a ski swap to get my 3rd pair of skis ever. I was 13, and it was 2010. I ran around frantically looking for twin tips, and to my disappointment I couldn't find any. I was pretty upset. Then at the last second I saw these 175 Dynastar nothing but troubles from 2008, and not a scratch on them with bindings.
The ended up being way to tall because I was only 13, but I got them anyway and was super super stoked. I got home and laid them agaisnt my wall, and everyday for like a week straight I'd find myself staring at them for a few minutes haha. The skis kind of sucked, but that didn't matter to me. That was the year I truly got hooked on skiing.
Thanks mom.
