Im moving near grand junction next year for school. Im moving from Pennsylvania and would like to know some more information about powderhorn. Theres only a few threads I could find about it were a couple years old. From what it looked like to me, it was a hidden gem. So what should an east coast boy be expecting by moving out there? I would have posted in regionals but I know this would be more exposure. Thanks.
Slowest lifts ever, janky terrain park, no steep stuff. You should check out WSCU in Gunnison, Co. It's cheaper and closer to Crested Butte, which is a way better mountain IMO.
Well thats the dilemma where I live now. Theres 7 Springs: Great parks, biggest mountain(hill) in the region, but its crowded as fuck, overpriced, and employees are douchebags. Then theres the smaller resort, hidden valley: Vibe is amazing there, so much more laid back, cheaper, and employees are really cool because they arent all 40 year old + hating their choice of job.
yea i hear ya...also depends if your planning on being a weekend warrior or will have time during your super intense community college schedule to ski midweek haha
;) hahah for such a small school, they have a very impressive flight program. Plus housing. Im not sure how my schedule will look. I should have it easy because I already have a bunch of classes out of the way due to college in high school classes and AP credits and also having my private pilots license and my intstrument rating. We will see
While this is true, this guy clearly doesn't understand the awesomeness that can be PWD...
Shit's legit. At risk of exposing a 'best kept secret', best trees and lightest pow in CO. Super fun natural terrain, natural hits...pillows and glades, everywhere...
I've lived in Summit most my life, and skied pwd through high shchool, for actual skiing, I prefer it over anywhere here....
If you think powderhorn has nothing to offer, you don't know where to go.
