Replying to impressions of the election overseas...

I'm in touch with some of my friends in China, Chile, France, Japan, and Africa. I will disregard Africa because they don't have effective leadership either. But all my friends have said how disgusted the people are with America in other parts of the world. Basically it boils down to this: America had the chance to show ourselves and the rest of the world that we aren't all a bunch of dolts who can't take our own destiny into our own hands. We had a chance to change this ridiculous administration BUT WE FAILED! How does that look to the rest of the world that we re-elected George Bush. We are now looked upon as morons. I'm not saying foreign opinion is everything, but its just something else to think about. My friend's host family in Japan saw the election results and asked my friend how it's possible, like they all thought it was a given people were intelligent enough to oust Bush. damn
