One thing I always think when I see crazy mountaineering is "Fuck, climbing that is ridiculous," Then I think about it for a second and go, "Fuck, filming in that is even worse!" Crazy shit. Wasn't too stoked with SFTV this year but this one is friggen awesome.

Of course this is just me, but I dont see the appeal of this type of skiing. It's extremely dangerous, most of the time it seems like there is hardly any snow, and the snow seems crusty, and it is windy and super cold. ANd of course when skiing down they have to do a lot of side-slipping and barely get to truely ski? Somebody tell me why this is fun other than the "extremity" of it.

Adrenaline, sense of accomplishment - conquering some of the most extreme terrain mountains can provide on not much more than a pair of planks stuck to your feet, an axe and some rope.

All the arguments you've made against it could just as easily be levelled at park skiing - it's dangerous, the snow is usually really hard packed, it's windy and cold, all you really do is ski between features and barely get to truly ski etc.
