I was in it until tenth grade, then dropped. I dont think its nearly as good as they hype it

They have it at my school. I'll probably take most IB courses but not full IB

is IB anything like AP?

I take a bunch of IB classes, but a lot of my friends do the full program, and they say its like going to hell and back. so much work.

I was going to. got accepted and went for a little orientation at the end of grade 8, then I saw the people in it were all completely socially retarded and so didn't go. damn glad I didn't.

I don't know anyone who is glad that they did it. Seems like a huge waste of your youth to me. my 0.02

I've always wondered this as well. My school doesn't offer IB, so I've taken all the AP courses my school offers and always wondered how much different IB is.

I did it, I hated it then but now I'm glad I did. I think it really gave me an advantage compared to my other friends who did the regular, swedish program.

I did it, only got 24 points which is the lowest pass grade but it got me into a good uni and i am so much further ahead on essay writing and referencing skills than anyone from any other course. IB was a lot harder than University so far and I have done a year and a half now, if you want to boss College do IB.

if you want to study then it will be best for you, and if you think that putting effort into receiving better opportunities is worth it, and you really can be bothered, then go for it!

i do the full program and it really sucks. its so much work. but i know that its gunna help me get into college so im gunna keep on chugging through it. im doing my Extended Essay on skiing so thats a plus

holy shit, it's killing me. got mocks in 3 weeks, holy shit. it's fucking hard as shit and I'm not a motivated worker and my school expects you to buy shit for science experiments and shit, it's ridiculous. I'm studying and working at least 3 hours a night now, and that's me not even dipping into my standard levels fully which are damn hard, I'm shit at maths and science and meh at German, Americans and Brits have no idea how easy they have it. on top of that BS i gotta do history, geography and english, and do 3 pieces of coursework/IA separately for each over summer and an extended essay and TOK presentation and I'll have one lab and then A FUCKING NOTHER ONE NEXT YEAR for Biology as well, thank god my maths IA is over. I'm gonna get under a thirty defo but I don't need too much for where I want to go to uni, but I'm so damn stressed it's crazy, it's a constant weight on our shoulders. I might spend 2 hours out on a sunday and go skate now, and I literally feel guilty I'm not at home perusing over my notes and sheets and trying to work. I can't wait for this shit to be over, it's absolute bullshit they feed you that it's great, I WOULD NOT reccomend to anyone. Constant pressure and a shitty summer in the works, plus you HAVE to do an internship for a week and then you also have to do constant community and service, my god, whoever thought this shit up is straight fucking evil. holy fuck, it's the stuff of nightmare, f I was back in Britain I'd have 4 subjects I actually want instead of the extra 3 I don't want and it's so much fucking easier, 6 subjects constantly demanding time and effort and MY GOD IT SUCKS A SACK OF GOAT BALLS. DO NOT DO THE FUCKING IB

yes it's a first world problem but I'm stressed from 7 in the morning till when I go to bed and I'm just always worried. some serious study bs is ahead of me and fuck this shit, I hate it but unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to not do it, I would switch to anything in a heartbeat if I could. yeah IB is dumb. i still graduated from the best uni in Canada after quitting that shiat. youre basically just limiting your high school experience because you meet less people, and have less fun

My school is starting the IB program next year, but they're starting with my graduating class. I signed up to do the majority of my classes as IB, but I'm taking normal Chemistry and AP U.S. History for next year.

This, it may be more work while you are doing it, but it is completely worth it when you finish and will give you a huge advantage in life. Its not for everyone though, it takes loads of time and effort to do. I only get the choice between IB and A-level, the british system, and they probably both take the same amount of work so Im going for IB, starting next year.
My school is pretty intense academically though, so thats just us. Also, to those of you saying its a waste to do it, it is a waste to NOT do it, because of how much you will benefit from it. Don't be lazy you're in highschool not fucking kindergarten. Play-time is over kids.

Read my comment. I appreciate the idea of the time we are in, as in working, but it's adding extra stuff you may not like plus work during summer that truly makes it unbearable, even getting good grades. Taking 4 subjects you like then dropping one is easier than taking 6 with 3 you may despise.
