WTF does a cork do in terms of tuning?

I went to my local ski shop today looking for a brush and the dude told me to use a cork instead. Is this right? i tried to look up how to use the natural cork on Swix's website but that was pretty useless

meh, the only thing i ever used corks for was when i used overlays

If you're just waxing park and pow skis I'd just get a brass or harder nylon brush

I never bother brushing my skis.  I just wax, scrape, and rub them down with a green scrubby pad.

But I don't have park skis either.
