Line Afterbang Edge and Core Problems

Yesterday after hitting a rail, a couple of inches of my egde on my afterbangs fell off. Before this i had a crack from last year, but it has never been a problem until now.

Any ideas on fixing this? I have tought about bringing the skis to a repair shop but if there is a cheaper way to fix this id be stocked

How and why do you think there is a "do it at home" solution here? Don't be cheap, go get your skis fixed at a proper shop. Otherwise water can get into your core and then your ski will snap. Properly take care of it before you get hurt.

That is going to be very tough to fix permanently, even for a shop. A shop might be able to fill the coreshot and put a new piece of edge in, but it would really be only a matter of time before the new edge ripped out.

My advice, would be to:

A) Get some new skis, unfortunately. Keep the abangs for urban.

OR

B) Try filling the hole with ptex/epoxy/jbweld or whatever (just to keep water from getting into the core) and then keep that ski on your inside foot, so that the missing edge won't make as much of a difference when you are hitting/edging on rails.

It will be hard to keep the coreshot filled, and the ptex (or whatever you use) will most likely fall out, and you will still be missing all that edge.

I would at least take them to a good shop though and see what they say. A good tech might be able to jimmy something better up for you.

sorry dude that sucks... but a bangs are pretty cheap. after its all said and done your probly better off buying a new fresh pair since the shop will be pricy

epoxy or ptex the exposed area to keep water out so your core doesnt rot and just ski them. if you ski park it really wont be that bad (I have a pair that have looked like that for ~3 years that I still ski sometime, albeit preseason and end of season). If it bothers you or you need edge hold, then get another pair and keep those are urbans (this is the better idea anyway)... new abang decks dont cost much at all.

Just ski them till the core rots, because they are just crappy A-bangs I would just continue to ski them and if they were nice park skis I would say get a base weld or repair.
