Yes and not necessarily. I support the war on harder narcotics, but weed has the potential to generate huge revenues, and has helped in thousands of medical cases. The TSA. . Meh. I just read a story of the guys who control the X-Ray machines abusing that power. I feel that we as American's need strict Airport security, but not the TSA persay. But the problem is, if not them, then who?

Dude I'm sorta halfway about meth and crack, but heroin and coke shouldn't be listed in ur "bad" list. Heroin for example has a really bad rap. Yeah it's addictive and if you get in too deep withdrawals will suck, but so is the case with tobacco and alcohol. Doing h occasionally is a ton of fun. Everything in moderation

Yes but people who are taking drugs are only hurting themselves. Guns hurt others. As far as the TSA it is inconvenient but necessary.

As for the guy who said H shouldn't be in the bad list, really? Heroin is worse for you and more addictive than crack, so if you're saying H shouldn't be in the bad list then those shouldn't either. Like you said, everything in moderation. Unfortunately, most people don't have much self-control so that doesn't work.


I forget the original questions exactly, but I do not support the war on drugs in any form. I would most support a policy similar to what Portugal has done with decriminalization and rehabilitation.

TSA is a joke. The reason airport security is necessary in this country is because of our foreign policy for many years. TSA is not necessary. People have been talking a lot about scapegoats after the Newton shooting, and that blaming guns etc. isn't really addressing the problem. I think TSA is the same, and that it's just an excuse for us to continue our "America is the best!" mantra and then say that we're trying to stop terrorists by subjugating everyone to ridiculous screenings. Hopefully someday we can learn

i think we should spend most of the money we spend on the war on drugs, on rehab programs and education about the effects of drug abuse. i think people should be able to purchase weapons, but that mandatory background checks and waiting periods depending on the power of the weapon should be implemented, perhaps waiting periods could be shortened if an individual took gun safety courses. I've never personally or known anyone personally that has a problem with the TSA, they did take my toy pistol when i was six, but hey thats fair, i got over it eventually.

Heroin isn't as close to as bad as crack. Crackheads lose their memory of everything. There was a show where a crackhead mother didn't even recognize her own son. Shit is weak. If someone wants to do crack that's their own prerogative. But thinking h is as bad as crack is stupid

privately owned companies are corruptable as they provide a service in exchange for money... kind of undermines the point. the goals of a private company are different than those of a government. i think government run is the way to go for TSA

No- moderation makes sense only when talking about good things. There is no moderate/proper amount of raping someone, or taking part in a school shooting, or doing crack or cheating on your girlfriend. Moderation does not apply to things that are already bad.

Also, get your facts straight. If you become addicted to heroin and try to get off it cold turkey, you can die from the withdrawal alone. You can't die from tobacco or alcohol withdrawal (although other problems can happen with alcoholics and withdrawal).

yes, and yes. the drug war employs friends on both sides of the law that would lose their livlihoods if the drug war stopped.

TSA has never ever, ever had any negative effect on my life. What is the reason it is so bad? Cause some random dude might see you in your skivies 4 times per year? Flying isnt a right, its a privlege so you sacrifice privacy for safety. i think the should be more intrusive personally.

49 us code-section 40103... A citizen of the United States has a public right of transit through the navigable airspace.

TSA also violates the 4th amendment, when they stop you, make you go through an x-ray, pat you down, stop you from proceeding etc.. they are performing an unreasonable search and seizure.

you most certainly do. Nothing is stopping you from buying an aircraft and flying it.

And once again, the government isn't stopping you from flying. But if you'll take a look at the back of your ticket, it's nothing but fine print. And what it says is that you can't step near their plane (which is privately owned) until you've been searched. If the airline wanted to, they could deny you for just about any reason they want. Is it fair? Sure. They own the plane and the crew. So long as they refund you etc, they don't need to do a damn thing for you.

And the issue of airport security screening being unconstitutional was settled back in 1973.

This is what i dont understand though, if a privately owned airline decided they didnt want their customers to be searched, would they be exempt? Say if united decided they dont want TSA screening passengers, could they just walk straight onto the plane?

I had a good chat about this with a frontier pilot, and he said he does not know of any law or regulation that requires you to go through security to fly on a privately owned plane, the airline can refuse you service, but technically if you flew on an airline that didnt require a security screening, you would be able to refuse to be screened and pass on through.

Id like to see what law says you have to be screened by tsa to fly on a privately owned airline. Im more curious than anything, because as far as i know, you are not required by LAW.

as far as I know, there isn't a law requiring it. however the FAA, who governs airlines and pretty much everything aviation related in the US, does require it.

failure to adhere to the faa requirements leads to loss of licenses and certification. so you could operate an airline that doesn't require searches, but you'd be shut down immediately.
