What's so good about on3p

Possibly looking to get new skis and everyone on ns is always talking about on3p... why does everyone like them so much

they care about the quality of the product they are realeasing to us. and even more impotantley they care about their customers and the whole skiing community.

Basically its a trend. Not saying they aren't good just the reason ns is in love with them is because they are the next best thing.

They make incredibly durable, fun, playful, charging, perfect skis. They design skis for themselves then let us ski on them. When you call the factory when getting them mounted, the owner picks up and helps you out. Incredible customer service.

By far, the best company (of any kind, not just ski), I have ever done business with. I only want to be on ON3Ps from here on out.

this

its just like everything else these days. the latest and greatest. then next year it'll be something different. im sure they make great skis and they're all real cool guys. but that just seems like a silly reason to buy something, because the guy who made them is "cool".

im sure i can go to rossi or k2 or line and find a cool guy who makes skis and really cares about the industry too

But are rossis and k2s hand made out of the finest materials in the USA? do the skis' designers personally build them, with customizable graphics for you specifically? Do they have umhw sidewalls and race grade sintered bases and the thickest edges in the industry? No, and that's why people are willing to sped the extra cash for on3p.

They are good skis, no doubt, but aren't a lot of smaller brands? Bluehouse, liberty, aritificial, icelantic, 9thward, high society, fatypus, rmu, etc. are all high quality ski brands but the reason on3p is choosen over them is the trendiness. Again, they make solid, good products, just I'm trying to explain to the OP why they are so loved on ns.

The skis are bomber, they have fast and strong bases, and the general construction kicks ass.

The customer service is amazing.

Made in the Us.

All the skis ski very well. Jeffrey is the best all mtn ski i have ever been on.

They have a hip team.

Most of the main posters on here ride them. So that spreads the word.

The company is small.

They have sick as graphics.

they did a colab with jiberish.

Now go buy atomics.

Yes each of those companies builds products out of fine materials. Nordica and line both offer race sintered bases on some of their models. Line has fatty edge fatty base. The top brands aren't at the top for building shit skis. I'm all for made in the USA, and like I said I'm sure they make great skis and their guys are passionate. But honestly, 99% of the people who work in this industry are pretty passionate about what they do. At least all the ones I've came across. I don't care about a customizable graphic and all that swag shit little jimmy is raving about. At the end of the day, my k2' Rossi and nordica stuff all treats me well and I have fun gettin out there. And that's what matters.

Fine by me, i kind of hate arguing over skis anyways. It's hard to find truly bad skis on the market nowadays, skiers have it better than ever with the selection and quality that's out for the buying. If you love other brands, keep loving them, we're not here to break anyone up. I can't agree more with your last two lines, it's all about fun at the end of the day, and whether or not you own a certain pair of skis shouldnt ruin a great day skiing.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not in any way trying to say that companies other than On3p make shitty products, I've just found that smaller boutique brands like on3p and moment and dps tend to have a higher quality finished product than most big brands. A lot of big name brand ski companies still make excellent products. I've had skis from armada, salomon, line, k2, moment, and on3p and have found them to all be very well made products. It's just that on3p goes above and beyond the industry standard with everything that they do, which is why I have the most faith in that company. Not to mention that supporting a company like on3p or moment is investing your money in the U.S. economy and a localized industry, as opposed to supporting companies that outsource their manufacturing to China (line, k2) or places in Europe (austria for atomic, armada, etc.)

The skis are awesome. Thats what it comes down to. I rode my 186 Jeffreys all day on groomers. I felt more confident bombing hills and carving on these compared to my tuned up chronics. If you dont know, Jeffreys are 110mm underfoot. They look like a pow ski really, but fucking shred anything and everything. Ask anyone who has jeffreys. I will promise that you will hear nothing but good things about them.

Neither of the females in that video look like they're super passionate skiers. I know that's an assumption but I doubt we'll see them on here or another forum like EpicSki or TGR to put in a good word for the brand that they work for. I doubt most of the workers in China are super passionate about ski's or skiing either.

Here is ON3P's new factory. Completely different look.

Now here we have way less automation and human involvment. And yes, robots may be more accurate then humans are in some instances, I realize that; but seriously that hand touch finish right to the end, nothing beats it. ON3P and other domestic factories aren't going to put out a product with massive edge gaps, topsheet imperfections and other things that a machine just can't spot. It just takes a walk through a ski shop with a highly diversified brand selection to see the difference here. And even if Dynastar and other big names have quality control people looking at the product before it goes through the door, it's still not the same as someone doing the work and controlling the quality at the same time. Fact is is that they currently and have previously put out a super nice product and people want that. And I'd imagine they are going to continue to put out super awesome stuff.

They're also just an awesome success story. I mean just take a read through this thread here:

to get an idea of what I mean. Started just a few years ago in a tiny garage and look where they are now. People like that, people like to know someones roots, and that's why people want to support ON3P.

You really spend a lot of time comparing what you think is "trendy" , and whatever brands your shop sells.

ON3P does solid business among Newschoolers, there is also a large following on TGR. I don't see you railing on shit over there.

Not sure why it bothers you so much that people like to buy good ski's made in America, by members of this community.

Sdot turned me towards ON3P when I asked her for ideas about a new ski. I bought the Caylors last December and loved them last season even with the lack of snow here in VT. I had the opportunity to buy a sweet version of the Jeffreys in May. I jumped on it because I liked the Caylors and wanted a lighter touring setup. In 8 ski days this season, Ive been blown away by the Jeffreys. I really, really like skiing them.

I will continue to do business with ON3P because their I like their products and I like their company.

I can't stand people acting like everything other than on3p is shit.
That being said, I have heard nothing but great things from anyone I know who has owned or skied their product, which cannot be said for many other small manufacturers, although everyone has their growing pains. I can't wait to ski on their stuff in the near future and although I don't have pro form access to on3p I am a ski gear junkie and am sure that I will own some in the near future after all of the positive things I have heard about them.

You were in full agreement that something you are obviously ignorant about is a "trend".

You are obviously some shop rat who is filled with ideas from reps. I on the other hand am a consumer. There are very few brands that I feel live up to the quality of an ON3P ski. And this is from experience. I can grab just about any sandwich ski from a major and find flaws that would be considered a blem.

I don't need insecurity to act like an asshole. I'm just good at it.

That is a very unfair assumption to make. She's in France (working for Dynastar) so I imagine that she does not frequent English speaking ski forums based in North America. To say she is not a passionate skier is a 100% baseless claim on your part. For all you know, she could spend 50+ days skiing (probably not freeskiing as that isn't very popular in Europe)- we have no idea and shouldn't jump to that conclusion.

Now China is a different story- those factory workers are not skiers. Skiing is not a developed sport in China, especially where the ski factories are. I doubt the factory workers there have ever even seen snow. Chinese skiers are mostly very wealthy people who don't ski in China- they fly to Japan or Europe.

With that said, just because someone who is making a pair of skis is not a skier, it does not follow that they cannot make high quality skis. I applaud ON3P for making high quality skis in the USA but that does not mean other brands who make their skis elsewhere don't churn out high quality product.

I think almost everyone in this thread can agree on:
-on3p makes a very high quality product, higher quality than most name brands.
-most name brands don't make a low quality product, the final production quality is just a bit less than on3p.
-there is a certain population of people on newschoolers who promote on3p because other people say good things about it, not because they themselves have had a positive experience with the brand.
Why are you guys still arguing?!?
