How do you acknowledge cheers from the lift?

i throw down so fucking hard im always getting hoots and hollers from the lift but don't know how to properly acknowledge them and thank the onlookers for their kind gesture. do you guys??

Everytime I land something and a racer on the lift makes any sort of acknowledgement, it's an instant flipping off. Positive, or negative, who cares.


But I have a feeling your talking about something different.

Seems kinda cocky, I always get whistles for my best trick (spread eagles), and yesterday I got major hollers for spraying a friend after he wiped out... the best acknowledgement is to tear of your shirt and yell 'I'M A STEEZ-MUFFIN!!!"

i respond in the following ways (respectively)

-standing up, putting my hands in the air and shouting (or just yelling "i'm okay!"
-whoops
-sending the next jump and pointing to the lift
-bobbing my head as i ride away switch

that's a pretty good idea. i was thinking about rolling some flags around my poles that say "THANKS FUCKERS" and unfurling them as i ride away. maybe have some of those confetti poppers to shoot too. would that work you think?

I go really hard most of the time. I'm pretty wreckless to say the least. I get hoots when I do cool things, but I get plenty when I eat shit. I normally just look up and cheer back at them. They're not really making fun of you, its just part of the mountain vibe. you have to acknowledge it!

Pissing "You thought that was big, you should see my pecker" into the snow usually does the trick. (this does require consumption of copious amounts of orange gatorade during the day and night before. the pee should be orange for visibility against the snow.)

Usually if i get legit cheers (which is rare because I'm not that good compared to some of the kids that ride at PC) I just get a big grin on my face! Outside encouragement from strangers is a good feeling and I love to give people props who thrown down good tricks on the mountain.

yup. yesterday I had an epic one while patrolling. double eject to 30 foot face slide right below the lift. got a lot of cheers and snide comments about being a ski patrol crashing.

Love those kids that talk shit from the lip when someone crashes trying something and then they proceed to all straight air liu kang the kickers and straight the boxes. But hey some kids get kicks out of trying to call people out from the lift but at least were out trying things and getting better!

i sent a fun line in the cirque at Bachelor today and stopped a little ways down the bowl to admire my handiwork. a dad and his kid skied by above me on a traverse clapping their poles together. I yelled out "that was for you little man!" to the kid. I then tried to rip some turns through avi debris and was getting bucked all over the place haha.

i make gun signs towards the lift.


the other day though this wierd little kid was jocking me on the trail. he was like "yo that jacket is sick!" then i did a little 3 over this gap and buttered out and he was like "yo sick man!" and he was freakin me out so i just threw him the hardest mean mug i knew how to make and he looked scared.
