What to build.

So my mother work's/lives at a barn owned by a rich family in my town, there is a large parking lot out front, a large John Deere, and the snow is all plowed into neat rows, etc. I have access to a snow blower, a gator, and maybe a pressure washer/air compressor.

What I don't have are rails. All of them are at my old house. And they are in pretty poor condition. I built an A frame rail with to steep an angle, haven't fixed that, a 12 flat, and a 20 flat, on both of which the pvc is starting to bow, and the wood is warping.

And since I'm not working at any mountain this year, so far, I'm going to try to build the best setup possible. But I'm not sure what rails I should make. I'm thinking of fixing the a frame into a flat down, using the 12 flat, as maybe a rail to bonk feature, and take off 5 feet of the 20 foot rail. Not sure what else to make. I have 420-ish cash, minus 170$ for new Saga pants.

I'm pretty experienced with building rails, I know the ins and outs. But I'm just looking for ideas here. I'm almost thinking a Dfd would be a worthy investment, maybe a fdf instead. I want to make at least another flat rail, probably a boxlike rail, and if someone can give me some plans for a rainbow rail, then make on of them as well.

Inb4 "post this in build a jib cult you stupidhead", that's dead. It would take a week to get a response, and it probably wouldn't be helpful/reasonable. Fanks

We get paid to live in a brand new house, and I get to drive around all of their rich people toys. Do you get paid to live in a nice new house and drive around rich people toys? Oh I thought so.

But we don't live in the fucking barn. We live in a house on the same lot.

why would that make you stop reading?

build a flat rail that's at least 15 ft, maybe use the a frame to make a fdf, maybe an elbow kink, make a bonk jib out of a barrel or something

heres what i'd build


drop in


first hit = choice of either a flat down rail, or a down tube

second hit = choice of either flat box or flat rail

put a corrugated pipe or a tube at the end perpendicular to your rails so that you can use it as a stall-type feature!


then also build an A-frame rail, a DFD rail (if you can), and a down flat box or rail, that way you can change out features at your desire!

or put the corri pipe in front of a down feature to either bonk off then land on the down or use it as a stall before the rail

Yeah. I'm thinking of something along those lines, not good at paint or I'd just draw it out. Problem will be transporting the stuff from one house to another. Probably just going to spend today moving/piling snow. It's somewhat of a pain because there is a decent amount of gravel mixed in with the snow, so what I'm going to do is try to just get down a base and then use a pressure washer/air compressor some night to try to blow some freshies on top.

Not sure how much longer most of the equipment will be around, so I built the lip tonight, big enough for two large-ish features. Huge drop in as well, at least 12 feet. I think it's gonna go lip to 15 foot flat rail, and flat down rail, to lip, to 12 foot rail bonk, and an up rail, and then put a dfd on the actual hill, or something like that. If I can figure out how to post pictures, tomorrow I will of the start.

Not sure when I'll get around to actually making/fixing the rails, but tomorrow I may go to my Uncle's, and see what he has for scrap metal, and maybe do a tad of welding. But also on that note, could anyone tell me how to put up pictures? I think it's just snap them, save em to my laptop, upload them to a website, and then copy img. url?

That's basically all I think I'm going to have. Maybe a Tube of sorts. But I need to figure out a way to dismantle/transport my current rails. I don't want to necessarily build new ones until I know what I'll need/have.

The point I was making though is that I don't have any rails here at the present lol.

Tomorrow if I can get a decent shot(s), I'll show you guys how much snow I really have to work with. That is just the drop in, for reference it's taller than I am (6'2) and probably about ten feet long. The lip, is probably 12-ish feet wide and 3 feet tall.

I'm pretty sure its an inverted rainbow, so it would curve down then up, instead of up then down.

You should make 3x 10ft rails that are all identical so you could set them up as whatever you like: elbows, transfers, drop rails, etc, get creative.
