Il moro t vs. il moro 2013

Why is the t version listed as 120 flex index on the website and the regular version listed at 110? I emailed dalbello and they said both boots shipped with C flex tongues, is this wrong? Is there a stiffer tongue in the t version?

And do the spoilers in the back of the boot also control the flex? i.e. is there any other way to make the boot stiffer aside from the tongues?

i'm looking into the differences between the two as well, and i'm guessing the stiffer flex is because the t is made with a different plastic, but i'm not familiar with whatever the "HEM PU Shell Sublimated" that it says the t is made of.

Not sure, I know that the pro and fusion KR 2 are made of stiffer plastic than the KR 2 core, but I don't know about the il moro.

I that sublimated might just be referring to the graphics.

The sublimated part isnt important but the T is HEM PU and the regular is just regular PU. Guessing this has something to do with it.

Also, pretty sure the T comes with both B and C tongues and the regular comes with just the C, so the 120 may be the B while 110 is C

I see the HEM PU stuff now... Anyone know difference between HEM PU and PU? Or what that even means?

Well PU stands for Polyurethane, which is a really common material for boot shells to be made out of. I'm sure that HEM is the designation for some sort of improved or modified form of polyurethane that they use to make the T instead of the standard version. Email dalbello about it. I'm sure they know more about it than I do.

Because there is no standardized system for rating the stiffness of plastic, companies will always use their internal development names/codes, which is what "HEM PU" most likely refers to. As said above, PU is an abbreviation for Polyurethane which is the standard high end plastic used in alpine boots. HEM is probably some hardness code that Dalbello internally uses. Sublimated refers to how they have put the graphic into the plastic.

would you call polyurethane a higher end plastic than polyether? just curious, since i only really see polyether in race boots.

for myself, i ended up opting out of the T because the rep told me that the differences between the boots is minimal, so i'm sure i'll be just as satisfied with PU vs. HEM PU.

Polyurethane is a general classification of plastic which Polyether and Polyester belong to. We industry folk tend to speak of polyurethane because both polyether and polyester are/can be used in the same family of boots depending on which characteristics are needed.

Polyether and Polyester are both top level plastics, but you will see more polyether boots on the market. Polyether is much clearer so when you see a boot with a high level of transparency, it is most likely polyether. Polyester tends to be a bit milky in color, so that tends to be reserved for solid colored boots. If a boot is solid in color it could be either of the two but if a boot is fully transparent or transparent red or transparent blue etc, then it is most likely polyether.

Bumping this instead of making a new thread. Just received my il moro t's...with only the c tongue. can anyone confirm if they should in fact come with 2 sets of tongues? oddly enough, they also have a normal top buckle and power strap which seem to have been swapped in from a KR Pro. do the tiny sizes (24.5) come with a different cuff that lack the park trekker top buckle? I think I will prefer the traditional top buckle system, but I was very confused when I opened the box.

did you ask the place you got them from about it? everywhere I've looked online states that it comes with two interchangeable tongues...

I got it through pro form from the shop I work at but yah it's supposed to come with 2 I never contacted dalbello though
