Daily Drivers for the Rocky Mountain West

I'm looking for some real honest comparisons on three specifics skis that I'll be buying in the not-so-distant future

I have/love my powder sticks, but I'd like something where if the weather looks questionable or if the conditions weren't as they appeared online, it won't smack me in the balls.

I ski mainly Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole. Mucho grande snow.

The three skis I want a comparison on areeee:

Moment Deathwish(which I'm leaning towards now)
or
4FRNT CRJ's
orr
ON3P Jeffery's

I really just need a good all-mountain tool. Not a one ski quiver.


Any advice, opinions, experiences, will be rewarded with a +K and my sweet, sweet generosity.

I can't speak for the first two, but I'm riding the Jeffery's this year and I'm convinced it is the best everyday any condition ski ever! 

You won't be disappointed!

Yeah, I saw an awesome video of them being used in a slushy park, than a backcountry playground.

I hear a lot of good things about them. How durable are they at higher speeds, though? I should of posted in the OP, but although I like to jib around, I love charging more than anything.

They are plenary stable. I am about 160lbs and I never find them unstable even when bombing down huge bundles of crud. Overall awesome ski. And they are super durable

I have the billygoats from last year and the jefferys this year and both skis have been insane!  I don't think I'll ever buy anything other than ON3P.  The skis are bulletproof!

I haven't found a top speed yet on the Jefferys.  To me they don't love the flats, but they also don't have any trouble holding an edge anywhere on the mountain.  They've been great in every condition I've thrown them in so far.  They are my everyday ski of choice for sure!

I have skied them in almost every condition so far this year. Early season bulletproof groomers, could not find a speed limit, carved beautifully. 6 inches of fresh in colorado was amazing, float was on point. 4+ feet of powder in tahoe, it was epic. Steep trees are so much fun on this ski, as well as going mach chicken, hitting side booters. Also pretty fun in the park.

I love that I have a ski where I don't even have to check the forecast and I know it is the right ski for the day. Bulletproof groomers or 4 feet of pow, they kill it all.

So freaking durable too.

I knew people loved the Jeffery, but I think you guys might have me sold on them.

I'll definitely be leaning more towards this guy than the Deathwish when it comes time to buy. I can't deny fellow NSians taste.

Another question is, if I were to buy the Jeffery for daily driver purposes, what size would I get? I mean I would feel like the 186 over 181 would be better, but I wouldn't be sure what would be better for everyday use. I'm 5'10" 175lbs and do enjoy being a charging, aggressive bastard on the mountain. Seems like the past 3 skis I've been on have been 184+.

186. I'm your height, plus ten pounds, this ski charges.Stiff yet playful. Rocker profile is massive compared to other skis in its category. Rocker height is on point with Bentchetlers while starting a little (like 3? cm) forward of the Bentchetlers.

Side note, damn I've lurked GT a lot the past few days hunting threads like this. Yeesh.

Thanks for the advice. +K all around.

I'll still be looking at the Deathwish, too, but when it's time to buy, I'll make sure to look everywhere for the Jeffery's first. They're impossible to find used.

Just for the record, I'll buy them new, but if I can find a pair used I'd buy them ASAP. Not expecting to see any used Jeffery's or Deathwish's to pop-up all of the sudden.

I've skied my 2013 Jeffreys every single day this season. I've lapped the park, skied them in 2ft of fresh, and everything in between. They are the best all around ski I have ever skied.
