Us has done a good job with the new 5s 10s 20s. But a lot of other countries have cooler looking money. US could update $1 and make it look really cool. Hope that happens soon.

- That maple syrup smell thing is false.

- I had a new bill tear a week or so ago, not sure how it happened but once the tear started, it spread across the bill extremely easy.

- Someone gave me a counterfeit $5 a couple weeks ago.

-The new bills also tend to stick together making counting a pain.

and i seriously dont understand why the US isnt changing sizes or adding other anti-counterfeit elements. has to be so easy to fake dollars, where you pretty much only have to acquire the paper, in comparison to most other currencies.

I'm guessing you haven't seen newer US currency.

Embedded plastic strips, hidden watermarks, and color changing foil stamping aren't really that easy to fake. Not to mention the cotton fabric type paper is damn near impossible to acquire.

In highschool I photocopied an American 20 dollar bill, coloured it in with a green highlighter and then crumpled it up. Then I traded with my friend's Canadian 20 dollar bill. I traded back after because I didn't want to be a dick.
