Just as the title states, school me on all things canadian and skiing. Anything you think may help, from spots to drink to french phrases that could help me order a beer or compliment a fine young canadian lady.
Here's a little info to help ya help me.
I'll be spending 5 or 6 days in Quebec City during the big ice carnival. I am a tourist from the mid atlantic states(pennsylvania) and have only been skiing in canada once(orford). I'm not really a tourist though, just using the bus trip and ski club for discounted trips and shit to places I've never been.
I'll be staying in the hotel Frontenac, it looks super fancy. Also I'll be skiing Le Massif, Mont Saint Anne, and a half day at Stoneham I think.
Like I said any info is much appreciated, anything at all really. Anything cool to check out in Quebec city, maybe a good place to find some poutine close to the hotel if you're familiar with the area, cool things to check out at the ice festival if you've been, and of course any french that you think might help me appear as not such a canada gaper from the states.
also any non skiing stuff in the area or around those mountains might help. I have cross country skis, touring setup and skins, hockey skates and stick, to go with my regular skis but not sure what to bring.
I know that's a lot to read but throw me a bone here if you find a spare minute or two my fellow NSers.
Thanks in advance.
