BMBW slacking?

Anyone else feel like BMBW has seriously even slacking this year? Their site is inaccurate and there is still no date for an opening. From looking at pictures and snow and its pretty obvious they have a bit of a base, yet their site still says 0" of snowfall. In the past they have opened a couple trails early on but the GM seems like he isn't ready to open yet. MRM has an opening date yet we don't. I don't really get it and its pissing me off.

Boston Mills is opening Friday with Summit, Buttermilk, and Peter's Pride with a temporary park on Summit.
Brandywine is opening Saturday with Frosty and The Park, with features in The Park.

How does BMBW have a 7" base and mad river has almost 3'?

Blowing up this thread a bit, but even Snowtrails has over 2x as much snow already made. Even Perfect North in S. Indiana has around 2ish feet of snow.

I'm very curious if BMBW sinking a shit ton of money into their new lodge has made them nervous about making snow early if there is any chance of it melting a bit. In the past, BMBW has been very quick to open up its slopes compared to other surrounding ski areas. This season, it seems like they are very far behind. I feel bad for people who bought a season pass

Saw BM/BW for the first time in a few years during the Christmas blizzard and could not believe that they weren't open. I checked perfect and mad river's websites and they had been open for weeks.

It's a shame. That place seems to have given up since the Ludwigs sold it years ago.

the coverage ill admit is not that great.  but they have a good set up with the snow they have. probably about 8 features in the park id say. good mix of rails and boxes.  but to bring up the fact they are slacking to me seems wrong.  Ill be the first to say they do and always have slacked on the website especially the parks one but from the making snow they absolutely took advantage of every opportunity they had this season. they just did not have many and still havent.  Ive been there almost every day and think they could be blowing leave my house its 27 drive 20 minutes to get there and its 30.  Other ski resorts in ohio have had way more snow making nights than bmbw and it shows.  their location is whats killing them right now but give em this week and i think it will be a lot better.  Plus their park set up has changed like4 or 5 times so far which is more than the passed two years combined.  Itll be good this year rob's the man!

Big rebuild in the park, opening tomorrow!

Last night I was involved in the park build at Brandywine. By “involved” I mean I hauled the rails from the bottom of the trail and placed them near the pad they are going to be installed on. Hey every job has a grunt and this time it happened to be me. But the important thing is how incredible The Park setup will be. Jack pushed out the pads last night and Robbie and crew will be here in the morning to set the rails and build the take offs. The setup takes a lot of time and unfortunately will not be complete for this evening. We do plan on The Park re-opening tomorrow (1/24/13).

Watch for an even crappier set up this year. They've got a lot of legal problems to contend with company wide. Their COO Jesse Boyd and family have a pretrial date set for November 14 for 10 felonies each, stemming from drug trafficking. The lifts you'll be riding on at least at AV were used to ship drugs. Hope that sits well with everyone.

 That they have been involved with for years now. They also have some fines from the Department of Commerce for running an unsafe tow rope at Alpine. Ran the rope down to a 1/4 of an inch and let the public use it. The are currently being investigated for several wrongful termination cases that have sprung up.

I spent 5 years with this company and know full well what naughty stuff they've been up to.

Do your business elsewhere

As somebody who grew up five minutes from bmbw, I think their slacking goes even deeper than that.

This year was a good year in terms of them opening, but the they fucking blew it on their opening park setup. It was 5 measly rails that they set up only hours before opening, and hardly maintained it. When they did groom them, a few bum ass boarders would close off the rails and proceed to take 20 fucking mintues to groom one feature. I'm not even exaggerating. In comparison, mad river opened with almost a dozen features, and almost all of them were better than the features at bmills.

So happy I have an Ohio Pass and am not stuck to solely bmbw now. Fuck that shit.

Last night 12/12 they took the few rails they had up, down. The groomers have a shit ton of snow to move around yet, so I wouldn't expect too much in the way of any setups for a bit. But they've been pretty good about at least getting a few rails out, so I'm sure there will be some out for this weekend. Especially if they get BW open.

Well what do you expect when we get to ski in November?  Coming from someone who knows the park crew manager, with what they were given that early, they did pretty well, and it was damn crowded and got rutted really fast.  There is no need to complain when we have a set up with multiple lines and are skiing this early in the season.

Anyway, I'm stoked that Bwine is opening this weekend, hopefully they will have a nice set up with some variance.

Yeah, I was at Boston Mills last night and I was pretty impressed by the setup considering how early it is. They had a flat single barrel rail, a short flat bar, a longer flat bar, an urban on down rail and a wallride type feature. Anyone going up to Brandywine today?
