Backyard setup help anyone?

So here in north jersey we just got about 6 inches and its still going strong. I went out to go make a setup and i think the snow is too powdery if possible. I mean i see in videos and other things that the ride on is nice and packed tightly so i was just wondering if i did something wrong. I kept filling up a garbage can of snow and made a huge tight mound then just shaped it out to the way i liked. The pvc fell out of the setup after a few runs so if anyone knows any tricks to making it better i need some help. Thanks

Table salt and water takes the sugary stuff and makes it nice and tacky to work with when building a setup. If it's still warm out; above -10C then use the salt, if its colder then -10C then I'd use water as it should freeze quick. Hope that helps, have fun jibbin man!

Get some ice in it, either by dousing with water or by heating the surface and then in either way waiting for it to freeze. Might have to do in multiple rounds to get it strong enough.

alright im going to try some salt if i have enough but ill definitely toss some water out there a lot cause its coming down pretty hard so ill just keeping covering the fresh layers. thanks a lot

i was at my hill today, where they too were trying to make a jump out of shitty ass powder snow (for packing. i love da powwwww). anyways our park manager had a propane tank with a torch hooked up to it that looked like this. he said you could find one for 15 dollars at home depot and they're really easy to use.

it melts the snow, water runs down the snow below, that water freezes, voila: harder jump. although the rest of the suggestions in this thread are accurate and work as well if you don't have the resources for this.

my fronthill is slightly slanted so i just plopped a pvc pipe down, made 2 little rollers, and seshed for about 2 hours. we only got alittle over an inch where i'm at in PA but still had a ton of fun. I used extra bricks that i had to keep the pvc from moving.

but thanks everyone else the roads are shit but ill definately look into that handle thing for the rest of the season guess im gonna have to deal with water for now
