I got the GoPro hd hero 2 outdoor edition and I don't know if I want to trade it in for the 3 white edition. Help!!!!

Just my 0.02 but I have the hero2 and I think it's great. I'm pretty sure unless you're abe kislevitz it wont make a difference whether you use the hero2 or 3. Most of the quality comes from the editing program you use. Eg. Slow motion in twixtor. I'm happy to be corrected about this but I'm not upgrading my gopro any time soon.

The Hero 2 has better video quality than the white edition Hero 3, but the Hero 3 is lighter and has WiFi its your choice but I would keep the Hero 2.

God damnit Alex but the go pro I got came with a wifi LCD backpack thing so I think the main difference is weight and I got a chest mount so weight is not my main concern

I would keep the Hero 2 so you don't have to go through the hassle of returning it and plus it has better video quality.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the Hero 2 has wifi and you can get a remote for it.
On another note I've never liked the perspective of the chesty. It's too low for my liking.

The differences between the 1080-60 and the 720-30/60 in the hero 2 and the hero 3 was brought up at the time of release of the gopro and from somebody who worked closely with gopro in developing the 3 made it quite clear that on the 3 the 1080-60 and 720-30/60 is native to the sensor in the camera and is not for the 2, and there has to be some software/processing shortcuts to get it to that. Also the sensor and processor in the 3 in all models is better than that for the 2. If there is minimal price difference between the 2 and 3white I would say go for the upgrade, for what seems to be similar specs there are hardware differences which aren't talked about to save sales of the 2 which makes the 3 white superior to the 2. get a gopro hero 2 or gopro hero 3 black. the black is the only one that is worth upgrading to. it has wifi built in and shoots 2.7k at 24fp, 1080p at 60fps. the white and silver only do 1080p at 30fps and are not even close to the black hero 3 in low light shooting capabilities. the hero 3 silver and white are very similar to the hero 2 just smaller and lighter

I got a black yesterday for christmas! Just set up the iPhone app with it. It looks sooo sick. I'm super stoked on the video quality and low light performance.
