I'm going to buy some JJ's with some xmas money I just got. I've never had a pair of pow skis and was wondering what kind of bindings would be good? Do ppl rock fks pivots on pow skis???

tons of guys use fks on pow skis. I personally dont but from my understanding te pivot heel can be a bother to snap back into in the pow if you release. The narrow mounting pattern is also something to consider with respect to rip outs.

I have 4frnt deadbolts on my pow skis and they work great for me. It's really all up to your preference though, and what kind of stuff you plan on skiing

Depends on what size brakes you buy.

Yep for JJs you'll need the XXL size brake

I seeee. Also since i've never had pow skis I was wondering if you want bigger skis in the pow pow. I ride 180 coreupts now and don't know whether to buy 175 or 185 jj's. I'm 5'10, what you fellow JJ riders feel is best?

(sorry about the dub post) Some guys don't like the Pivot series bindings in pow they often say how they're difficult to get on in pow. I've never personally skied any pivot series bindings in pow so I can't comment. On my pow skis I currently have a set of Marker Royal family series binding and an STH Driver series binding.

Definitely the 185s no question. They feel fairly short due to the rocker anyway. Mine are mounted with STH driver 14s which have been great. As has been mentioned, I've heard the fks/pivot heel can be a pain in the ass when it's packed full of snow but I really don't know. I chose the sth as I got a good deal. PS. you'll love the JJs, they're fucking sick.

Go longer for sure, the longer the ski, the more surface area , therefore the more float. What's your height/weight etc. then we can help you find the right length JJ

FKS140 should be £££ at your size

Definately 185 over the 175 for you. Realistically I think you could size up 195 AKJJ if you needed the stability. Depends what you think you need.

I use px14's on my sticks and they are perfect. Durable, not hard to clip back into when falling in powder, and can usually find pretty cheap. I'd recommend them!
