Most breathable, lightweight balaclava?

I'm looking for a plain, black balaclava which is as thin and breathable as possible, without having mouth holes. +k for helpful suggestions!

I recently invested in one and it's rad! Was getting blasted on the chairlift and couldn't feel a thing. Wouldn't hike in it but you can pull it below your chin easily so it's not really an issue. The only thing that bug's me is that it's not that long.

not at all, it's really thin so it's easy to breathe and if you feel like its tough you can just pull it down for a little and you still look baller. I hiked with it last week, not bad at all, it gets wet like any face mask would get but again its really thin so its not bad. my favorite one i've used so far.

That's the one I ride with. Made by Bula. I ride with it a few different ways. Over the mouth and nose, over the mouth, over the chin, and under the chin. It's super stretchy nice and warm, very breathable. Hope that helps!

Eh one thing for the guys with the UA Balaclava, do you have any troubles with it pulling out of the neck of your jacket or hoody at all? Mine does from time to time, and when it does, I rage. I was thinking of stitching some velcro to it but if that shit gets all weird, IRRITATION CITY.

My jacket zips up close enough to my chin it's never really a problem. Still get the occasional stray chill inbetween my bala and whatever I'm wearing underneath, not enough to bug me though. I just wear a yowie when I'm riding in a hoodie

yeah i wish they made the neck longer, if so it would be the ultimate.

to the OP i just got two Buff neck tubes, they seem really similar to the Yowie and are nice and thin. cant wait to try it out tomorrow

yowies for warmer days

armada ballerclava green and yellow (fleece lined) for the warmer days

both of them stay relatively moisture free and not frozen all day!

tried my buff neck tube today...it immediately got all wet and cold and there's no going back from that. switched back to my UA mtn and was good for the rest of the day

That's the one I have as well, it works great for me, very thin and very breathable no buildup of moisture that freezes

I had an balaclava airhole one before which was great. A little thicker and warmer, hole provided great breathability

Fair warning this is my own creation, BUT...even risking internet scorn, I have to say my product fits the request quite well. The Weatherneck System is a removable and breathable balaclava I created cause I had this exact same problem. Thanks
