Line Opus as a backcountry ski?

I am considering getting some Opus's with the intent of using them at resorts and in the backcountry, i would be mounting them with some sort of touring binding. Would this be ok to do with these, or are they strictly a resort ski? I so, any suggestions?

With a 118mm waist they are most definatley a solid pow/backcountry ski. Eric rips some super deep lines, and some super steep lines in a lot of Nimbus edits with them. He even tours loads with them as well. I would say that they would be more at home in the pow then on the corduroy, but they can still rip the groomers from what I've seen.

They sound like they would meet your needs pretty well. Personally I have never rode them though...

They're not super light but then again they're not overly heavy either. If they are just going to be used for 'slackcountry' ski, they should be fine. I use 191 Caylors as a day touring ski, and I have no problems with the weight of the set up.

Yes, I have some 185cm opus with baron and they are very good.

I skied them 5 times in Roger pass, two 3 hours hike and three 4 hours hike, they were okay.

I have 17 days on them at revy and they are perfect, so yea you should be fine man.
