To start things off I would like to nominate Welch Village in MN. They have 3 small beginner rail features... No jumps. They also aren't maintained very well. Who can top that?
Seven Springs is actually kind of pathetic for early season this year, I dont understand why they are voted #1 park n pipe on the east coast because at the moment the currently have like 5 features in and they'll claim that their park crew put in such hard work. I understand its still early in the season but pads wernt pushed for rails or anything they were all just put into the snow and had a lip built up to them.
Eldora in Nederland CO. Early season was a pile of snow at the base as a drop in, then two flat boxes on the left, a picnic table to a small rainbow on the right. Couldn't get enough speed to hit both. Fun little mountain, has some really steep stuff, but the park is supreme small mountain status. Fun trees though.
deer valley. they have three rollers, three feet apart and call it a terrain park haha
I dont expect them to have one I just think it's funny they claim it as one
I feel like a lot of the parks around my area have just declined so much in between the last 3-4 years when they were in their prime. Whatsup with this, I feel like it should be the opposite?
honestly welch is the worst besides mt lacrosse.
Right now at least. They have 1 flat bar with a kicker that is 6 times too big, 1 box that somebody made in their garage, and 1 kind (fdf).
They also have shitty, sketchy jumps that are barely big enough to 3
I'll put in a vote for La Crosse. I have a race there every year. I have learned to leave my twintips at home. The only thing that they would be fun for there is bombing switch down Damnation.
^ I'm seeing a lot of hate on Mount LaCrosse ... can anyone give me a more overall impression of that place? I'm headed there in the next month or so and want to know what to expect.
it is just no fun, park is not good if you're lucky there will be 5 rails, and the biggest jump is a 10 foot tabletop. and its just really really old, so crappy 2 seater chairs made out of wood and stuff.
I would tell you to avoid it, but this year we got a new park director and 5 (a lot I know :P) new features donated from a local foundation and hopefully it will be good.
This explains a lot, but I can't complain the parks are pretty dope here, although I wish they had more between super small and massive features.
Anyway, my biggest beef with Loon is the lift that accesses the park is a triple and the slowest on the mountain. I've never experienced a 'hot lap' in my life because of it. They really need a dedicated lift or tow or something. Pretty hard to get stoked when you have to wait 20-30 minutes between runs. I'm no park rat but still its ridiculous.
Bogus Basin, In Boise, Idaho. Last year they literally made a mound of snow and called it a "jump", just because some moron put tracks into it. Also, One of their rails broke under my feet while sliding it.
Hermon mountain, ME
We have on tube that is PVC and is only 10 ft long and a box that is made out of composite wood. We can't even use the box this year cause the retard that made it used nails and those nails are pulling up.
Yeah I don't know if welch can be topped, like 3 or four years ago it was ok, but when they moved to two sections it got horrible. The lip onto one of their "rails" was this steep / I shit you not.
I just came here to post Welch Village, good job OP. Buck hill is nowhere near as bad as Welch, at least they have more than 3 features set up by a halfway competent human.
Have you seen Saint-Bruno? The park keeps getting sicker every year. they added a staircase aswell.
Such a small mountain but pretty cool to me as i live 5 minutes from there, stoked.
And yeah, bromont is now shitty
