Pleasant Mountain aka Shawnee Peak has an amazing history in Freestyle Skiing. There have been 7 National Freestyle Champions that have come from that little mountain. Several great Big Mountain skiers got their start at that little hill. Plus... B. Boogie Cole is still skiing there and he was once regarded as the best Freestyle coach of the 70's.
Let me hear from the Pleasant Mt crew both new and old. And someone tell me what went down today at the INSPIRED TOUR. Yeah Shawnee... dat di hill I grew up on. BIG UP!

Monday Night Madness is really the only they they're ever had going on for them. It was $10 from 4-9 when I was in high school and we'd go once every few weeks.

This is where I learned to ski. Shredded more there than anywhere else from age 2-14. I like to go back at least once a year to make some turns and session a little night park.
My grandmother also owns a small log cabin down the road a couple miles on Moose Pond. Great area.
Big Ups to Shawnee Peak

i agree with a lot of what people have said, as shawnee peak is a sick mountain close to home for me (i live in portland) which has great features for learning park and some other decent rails, but over all, i am dissapointed with this mountian. It definetly has potential to be a super sick park, but the crew is awful. Rails are crooked, the jumps blow, and all the landings suck. Recently they got an airbag, which is sick, but they still dont allow inverts, so whats the point. Shawnee peak is fine the way it is, but it could be a WHOLE lot better if the mountain payed more attention to the park. Anyway, ill be skiing there some sundays in january and every thursday with my school, we should get an NS crew goin, thatd be dope

Shawnee peak is really a legitimately horrible mountain. It's proximity and Monday Night Madness are all they have going for them. Night life is bad, accommodations are bad, park is bad, terrain is bad, pricing is all fooked up considering what they are offering for what, $55? Cranmore is just a little further from Portland, and is much better. Park wise, terrain wise, great hotels/bars/resturants. Personally I don't think they have the capacity to be a "good" mountain.
