I mean ford owns jaguar and Aston but this is just stupid IMO. It threatens the jaguar and Aston brand to put their front grill on a stupid ford hybrid.

I hope I'm not the only one to notice the similarity

yea, cause everyone buys a car solely on what the front end looks like. It will absolutely not threaten jag or aston. Its a front end that has proven to look fierce, fast and bad ass. Why would you buy a car that looks like a tampon when you can buy one that looks like a shark.

I don't like your name, i don;t like that you're iconless, and for whatever reason this thread rustled my jimmies not because of the car but because of how fucking stupid this thread is. You thought this was thread worthy and who gives a fuck it's a car. They're their to get you from point a to point b. I could give a fuck what the grill looks like and if it resembles any other grill of any other car.

On the contrary my good man, how many of us will never own an Aston yet admire it's classic, muscular good looks?  I'd guess the vast majority would be in that category. 

Ford is smart.  They're classing up their cars, which have been mediocre at best for way too long.  I for one am glad to see this design change.  I love the now look and the new powertrains.  The new Explorers look sick, as do the fusions and a few other models.

I say part S5/R8 (roofline and door vents), part Aston (front grille and lights), a little 550 maranello (hood and windshield rake) zero lame ass cheap Mustang influence they've been running with for way too long now.

Fuck yeah Ford.

Can't blame other companies for trying, Astons are incredibly beautiful cars. There's a Mitsi with the same thing going on (forget the model). I think it's the half moon grills which slant inward....

Design studio for the Ford Luxury group used to be down in South Orange County. Jag, Aston, Rolls, Volvo all in the same building. They divested from all of those (at least majority shares) by now though.

I would never buy a fusion.

It'd be a pretty tough choice for me to decide between a Maserati Gran Turismo or a Aston V12 Vanquish.

That aside, Astons have always looked awesome, the new Jags are pretty sweet too. Neither are owned by ford anymore, though Aston does get some engines from them.

But those trapezoid grills!!!! Ford did that to all their cars. fusion, escape, etc.

Why? They look like fuck right now. That's at least a progressive design. I like it. I must say though I really do hate how they look now so to me, anything is an improvement.

This.

I know a couple years ago they did but I think Ford sold them off when they got in financial trouble a couple years ago. I know at one point Ford was also the parent company for Mazda and Land Rover as well.
