We have one homeless guy here in Pagosa Springs Colorado. He's an interesting character. Sitting on the street corner with his short conical spliff held up to his rugged dirty face and a sign, that reads "need food and camping gear", held crooked at his waist. It's hard to miss his frilly hat and his beetling middle finger as you drive past him. Every day he is there. Snow, rain, hail, or thunder, he is there to remind you how he feels about you as an individual.


If one day you do decide to give him food or a ride to his home in the forest, if you allow him to fill your car with his pungent odors, if you let him boss you around as if you were his chauffeur, you might be able to understand him.

If I were homeless, I would break into a boat harbor and live in peoples boats in winter, or whenever they aren't using them. I should volunteer at a soup kitchen so I could tell them all about the gameplan. But then there would be a bunch of territory struggles, and we don't want that.

They are fucking annoying. Luckily I think most stay in California there aren't as many in Reno as in the past but I get hounded for a smoke or dollar from them daily.

at first i got a good laugh, then i started thinking, does this guy really have a kid and not have a home, kinda fucked.

Hey I live in Durango and pass through Pagosa on the reg on my way to/from home. I'll keep an eye out.

If I were homeless I'd hop a train south around fall, prolly stay somewhere in Arizona, then come summer head north again to escape the heat.

most bums become fairly integrated with the public transportation systems such as lightrail or bus to stay warm.

its not like they can kick them off, if they paid, they have just as much a right to ride the bus as you do.

come to SLC and watch the trax at 9 pm.... have to carry a knife with you I swear

His name is Chris and he's spent a few years homeless in San Diego. For some reason he likes Pagosa a lot. He hangs out at the last traffic light heading east on 160. Right by the river and hot springs. It's hard to miss him

I could not believe how many homeless people were in san fran when I was out there. Fucking blew my mind.

Around here though theyll go to jail just to get a warm place to sleep and a few meals.

A ton of cities struggle with their indigenous population of homeless people, whether it's attempting to get them into jobs and housing or into care as needed. Some are attempting a different sort of solution, specifically getting any homeless people or families willing to leave and having a place to stay somewhere a ticket out of town. More places are relocating homeless people that want to leave.

There was a homeless man who lived under an underpass near my house. When my friends and I where 10, we looked around the underpass. We saw clothes, empty cans/bags, and a trash bag full of human waste. The police got him to leave a few months ago. Most of the stuff is still there.

A lot of them go to Hawaii, If they can scrap te ey for a one way ticket. It's because sch a big problem that they give them beach mats and let them all crash on the beach in Honolulu as long as thy are up by te beach opening in the morning.
