What peak would you want to climb before you die

For me it's either the Vinson massif ( highest peak in antartica
Or

I guess you could call it that. I was going to do a flip-flop through hike last year, going harpers ferry north/Harpers ferry south, but I ended up getting slowed down by catching lyme's disease in new jersey and by the time i climbed Mt katahdin, i was almost out of money and the weather was already getting brutal. so this year i am headed out in april to finish it off, starting in gerorgia and heading north.

I guess if i finish by may 15th this year it will still be technically considered a through hike, although I eally am not too worried about that.

haha funny you say that, i live right off the AT in new jersey, ive hiked the NJ segment of the AT many many times, hah. and we certainly do not have a shortage of ticks down here. but good for you! the AT is a dream of mine one day after i finish the long trail, as well as Katahdin, what a gorgeous mountain that is. best of luck bud!

gear is a little different than a mountain. i'm not saying you need have climbed them but i'd say those ratings are a little less than trustworthy. maybe testimonial from well known climbers would be adequate

Everest.

I know a guy that attempted it but was turned around 200 vertical feet from the summit by his guide. He would've been the oldest American to summit Everest had he have reached it.

Carstensz Pyramid, Indonesia. Its the highest point in Australia/Oceania and on an island in the world. The mountain is also surrounded by largely unexplored rainforest. I'd also like to climb Denali, Mount Elbrus, and Mount Robson.

One of the Annapurna peaks, deadliest peak in the world above 8000m. The fatality to summit ratio is around 38%.

Yeah but its not what you think. Ive already researched carstensze and it is very far from any ocean. The big island of indonesia is very big. Thats why i like orohena in op. its very close to the ocean and you can see the ocean from its 8000 foot tropical peak

Annapurna would be insane. This mountain is the most dangerous in the world with about 130 climbers have summited the peak but 53 have died trying making Annapurna’s fatality rate of 41% the highest in the world.

my understanding is that there arent even "commercial tours" on top of K2. meaning that just paying $X wont bring you up there, whereas so many complete fuckups climb everest while having this quality logistics behind them that makes it pretty easy. when you get enough oxygen, its like walking around a beach. i am not saying that they get so much oxygen that its a cakewalk, but its certainly not as tough as anyone makes it to be.

^^source is my boss i worked for in summer. he was on cho oyu and the everest, but before that he did the big three north faces in the alps, matterhorn, eiger and grand jorasses i think.
