Smith i/o blackout lens

anybody know when the blackout lens will be available for purchase as a single lens? i know you can get it with certain pairs of goggles now, but i want to buy just the lens. its listed on the smith site, but like most of the lenses, it is listed out of stock, as the rest of them have been since summer. so they clearly just havent restocked for the season

anybody heard anything about when it will be for sale?

Not sure when it will be available, but I am rocking it on my I/Os and its a great lens!

damn, way to make me more jealous. ive heard great things about it, and based on the fact that a lot of athletes use it, i assume its a great lens, and it looks sick.


now they just need to fuckin release it...

so far.. if you want it youll have to buy a pair of goggles that comes with it..  I had to buy a basic white pair, just to get the new red sensor photochromic lens, which by the way, OWNS ALL ELSE for low light

Blackout is available for IO, IO/S, IO/X, Phenom, Prodigy, Stance/Fuse, and a few other models as a replacement lens. Not many were produced this year, they're mostly in goggles as a package as others have said, but they are available in limited supplies. I'm guessing that by the spring they will have them stocked up for most models.

It's the red sensor mirror lens but with photochromic technology, so it darkens according to the amount of sunlight. It changes from 20 to 50% VLT

In reality its a rose copper base in the 70% vlt range, with a flash mirror to block glare. They also put their photochromatic tech into, which they claim will change the darkness of the lense with changing light conditions.

thats a pretty good range and would cover a lot of conditions.

So i have been using this lens now for 2 weeks..  it is killer for conditions when its snowing, cloudy, or even night skiing.. as much as i hate to say it, this lens has now replaces my Sensor mirror, and Ignightor..  i might even go as far to say i like it more than Oakley's G30 lens... but good Lord i love me some G30 lens!!!
