Replying to Mad owl warranty?

mad owl's poles claim a "1 year warranty" on the product page.  then on their terms and conditions page "Warranty Disclaimer
This site and the materials and products on this site are provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied."

anyone know what the deal is?  is there a warranty?  what would it cover?  my assumption would be manufacturer defects so if it falls apart in the closet they'll fix it but if you use it and it breaks they won't cover it?
