so i have a relatively new pair of boots and the liners have been packing out a little more than i anticipated, hence my heels are starting to move around a lot more then i want. i probably have about 15-20 good long days on my boots so far so im sure they will pack out even more.... i'm going to try a pair of a-line foot beds and see how those fair, but i have also been toying around with the idea of using a smaller pair of intuition liners in my boot.... i would use the correct size but my shop has a pair of 27's that i can get for super cheap and i thought about the possibility of this solving my heel lift problem... im using a pair of dalbello krypton kross' size 28.... let me know what you guys think, thanks in advance for your input
Aline makes a nice footbed, so those will at least stabilize your foot. However, a good footbed usually creates more room not take up space....
If you remove your liner from the shell and put your foot in the shell, how much space is behind your heel when your toes touch the front? Do this test. If you have more than 1inch behind your heel your boot is too big and a smaller liner will only help your problem for a shirt time. No point dropping $200 on a liner then.
interesting little trick you got there... yeah i got about two inches of room in my shell with my toe all the way at the front.... shitty. so i guess pretty much have no other option other than getting a smaller boot huh?
This is the only way to know what size boot you should be in, and a step that every qualified boot-fitter should perform. If you have 2 inches of room behind your heel your boot is 1 shell size too big and getting a new liner will be a waste of money because it will just happen again.
