I'll probably just end up majoring in english in college caus that is the only subject I like or can handle in these days of senioritis during high school... Going into college with an open mind tho.
I'm an english major and I would take my major over engineering or science or business any day, I might not make as much money but I value the things I've learned in English so much (all the power to you guys in business/science/whatever though).
"English majors are the conscience of society" don't know who said it but I think it holds true.
its just funny that, as someone who potentially wants to be an english major, you spell using abbreviations and such. not hating at all, it's just funny.
Econimcs, finance if i get in the business program which i most likely will. Although iv worked in a cubicle for about a total of 16 hours and I want to die, and i dont want to do that for years to come.
Also, there's lot more to being an English major than just proper spelling an grammar. Those things are just as important in any major that requires writing
clearly expressing my ideas is the easiest part of english, i had that figured out by my second year. the most important thing i've learned is how to think and formulate ideas worth expressing
see expressing my ideas is the hardest part of english for me. coming up with good ideas is second to that though. i guess thats why im not in a major that requires writing though haha
my business roommates have the same issue. they're constantly worried about essay format and phrasing the like, which i don't even think about anymore. but then again, i can't subtract.
I agree that is something worth learning. I've been dealing with communicating technical information based on scientific topics, specifically geologic subjects. It can be difficult presenting evidence of tectonic plate reconstruction during the Eocene geologic period but somebodies gotta do it
That's how most of the business majors are at my school. In my BUS-100 class, we had a group project including a 10,000 word report due at the end of the semester. We broke up the workload between 3 members. Proofreading the other two people's writing was unbearable.
Writing is just something business majors tend to fail it.
Jus finishing up a semester of environmental design, don't like it though. Going undeclared into next semester then declaring something related to environmental studies or biology
