Imagine if Biggie didn't get shot

I just watched notorious and i was thinking if biggie didn't get shot what music would it be like today? maybe we wouldn't have shitty radio music. and he would spark other people to become rappers to
thoughts?
and if you dont like biggie think about pac too if he hadn't been shot, his music he would have braught up.

Why do you care? The real question is how do you have so much time to watch shitty movies like Notorious? But...

I think it is an interesting question, and on that note I think music would be almost exactly the same if Biggie and Tupac didn't get shot, they may still have some influence but there are so many artists producers ect. that the industry can't really be massively be influenced by a few individuals anymore.

wut? shitty radio music has been around since the invention of the raido, and I dont think Biggie being alive a few more years would reverse a trend in pop music that has lasted most of the 20th-21st centuries.

No rappers who were as big as him back then (NWA, Wu-Tang etc...) are really that relevant in music anymore, except Jay-Z and snoop basically.

he probably wouldn't be half as famous, and music would be the same.


Or he would have seriously declined and released a few mediocre/bad albums, then would have faded from the spotlight altogether.

No matter what, there will always be shitty radio music because:

Radio companies mainly monopolized by Clear Channel. So basically, the biggest radio stations in every city are all owned by the same company.
Clear Channel then strikes a deal with major recording companies like Universal, Sony, Warner, EMI (Virgin & Capitol) to play x% of music from just their recording company.
Now independent artists are left out in the cold since they aren't well recognized or signed to a major label.
And thus, you now have almost all radio stations play music that is unoriginal, overplayed, and generally unimpressive.


That all being said, certain one-hit-wonders do make their way into the open sometimes but rarely. Also, people tend to like what they hear often, so even if it sucks ass, the general populace will still prefer to hear it. This is also why you'll hear some of the same songs played for months on end.

What would a few more albums from the both of them do? I'm pretty sure they affected the music world with the stuff they released regardless of them being shot.

The fact that both died as rising stars is what turned them into cultural icons. If Both remained alive they would have ended up like Wu-Tang. No matter how big an artist starts out or gets during their prime eventually music moves on. When Biggie and Pac where murdered they essentially became martyrs of hip-hop. Dying at the hight of your career is one of the best things that can happen to an artist image. Biggie never had to "sell-out" Our image of him remains the hardcore, give no fucks gangster that had such a profound impact on rap.

This is what I think of biggie smalls: not so fucking great

I don't understand why there are so many people going around saying that biggie was the greatest rapper of all time and stuff. He could freestyle really well, but the songs he wrote were pretty weak imo. He mostly just wrote songs about 1. how poor he used to be and 2. how rich is is now (when he released them). I've listened through his whole discography and there are a hand full of songs that I thought were good. Biggie smalls is exactly what a lot of rappers expressed a lot of hate for in the 90s, some rich ex-drug dealer who goes around flashing his cash and talking about bitches and cars all day.
The only reason people thing BIG is so great is because he was shot. If he were never shot, he would be just like what diddy and jay-z are like now, some rich half-assed rapper/entrepreneurist who sells everything from albums to cologne to whatever the fuck else he can make a dollar from.

theres good music out there, you just gotta search, that was cheese 2 years ago at EF i would highly recommend that every one sees at lease one cheese show in their life time it is truly a life changing experience with the vibe, the music, the people and the show its self. sober or not its the best show/concert out there. go to horning's hideout for a 3 day long STRING CHEESE INCIDENT PARTY.

Comments like this are fucking stupid. That's like saying if John Lennon hadn't been shot, artists like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus wouldn't be famous today. Honestly, if Biggie never got shot, the only thing that would be different is he wouldn't be nearly as famous.
