Importing Concerns with FCPX

So I just upgraded from Imovie to FCPX and I'm a little worried about being able to import videos into the program. I have a Canon VIXIA HF R300 and it's on the Imovie compatibility list but not the FCPX list. Will I be able to import my videos when recording in AVCHD format at 1080p?

convert your clips to prores 422 LT with a program called ClipWrap.

You can also use Mpeg streamclip do that too

Mpeg seems to be picky with MTS. It works for some and not for others, they don't with with avchd 2.0
