Replying to The Secret - Documentrary from 2006
DISCLAIMER: LOTS OF READING AHEAD (sorry)
I am not going to post the trailer because the trailer is so corny and I feel like if I would have watched it first, I probably wouldn't have watched the movie haha.
So I just started and finished this movie tonight. I did a quick little search and found no results of this movie ever being discussed on here and I apologize if it was. However, I still find this thread to be completely relevant in today's society and maybe it can help a few people out.
So the movie focuses around positive thoughts and if you think those positive thoughts, good things and even sometimes, these thoughts will come true.
I am going through a hard time in my life and feel a certain way about how things are terrible and such. I wouldn't say I am depressed, I am just not where I want to be and I can honestly say, I focus on these negative aspects of my life, which could be a reason why things aren't super great.
I am not trying to post a rant or explain how poor my life is currently, rather I just want to open up other members eyes to a piece that I find very inspirational.
For those of you who also feel a certain way and think they deserve better, I highly consider you watch this movie. Even if you are completely happy with your life and everything is great for you, watch it and maybe find out how you might be able to improve on things.
Of course some of the stories in the movie are a bit drastic, but honestly, I am going to take everything with an open mind. Rather than judging people on their own stories and thinking about how that could never ever happen, I will embrace everything they have to say.
I will admit that I wasn't really a good note taker and such in school, but I filled the front and back of a piece of paper on the things I want, as well as the tips they give.
In conclusion, many people who read this are of course going to take that "sure thing bro" stance. I simply ask that you keep your hateful thoughts to yourselves, but honestly, I feel like this community is a very spiritual one. I couldn't help but think or CR Johnson and his injury and how he never gave up. He always looked at life on the bright side, and I truly believe that all his positivity and way of thinking really was influential in his recovery. I would also like to apologize to the huge amount of text, but I felt it was necessary.
Watch the movie and see how it affects you. I know it has affected me in just the short time of watching. I already feel better and happier than when I began watching.
Thanks guys.
