i hate to get into this conversation but i have to say something.anybody could easily make a poison from household materials.mustard gas for instance two house hold chemicals mixed together highly toxic anybody could make it.on another subject take away guns people can make them im not going to tell how for reasons but it is possible and very easily done.
i have been rased using firearms safely from my parents and myself own firearms. i dont think taking away guns will help anything. people will find another way of using anything to accomplish their goal.i believe its just the people, like somebody said just let the police and military have the weapons, whos to say a person in the military or law enforcment wont have a pshycotic beark down and do the same thing.
How could anyone possibly come to the conclusion that banning firearms will stop gun crime? Guns themselves are not the reason for the senseless slaughters that have recently been plaguing the news. The saying is always true “guns don’t kill people, people kill people with guns”. A cold blooded murderer is a murderer whether they chose a gun or any other weapon.
You can argue that guns are so dangerous, but how many people do you actually know that have either been harmed or willingly caused harm to another human being with a firearm? I personally know not a single person in either case. I bet most of you are on the same page as I, yet you maintain your belief that guns are in fact so dangerous.
There are countless stats that show gun crimes, what the stats fail to show is how many guns are owned and used in a proper manner on a day to day basis vs. the number of crimes committed with guns. Furthermore the number of legally registered guns should be taken into account vs. the number of illegally owned guns used in these crimes; Or even on an even larger scale, the number of crimes against people caused by knives or other weapons vs. guns. Surely that should help put the use of guns more into perspective. Still, we are all part of such a sheltered generation that for the most part sees no positive value in a gun.
If someone actually thinks it’s possible to outright ban guns, think again. With the Canadian long gun registry alone, how many guns went unregistered? In many cases people became criminals in light of that legislation by choosing not to register their rifles. And again, I’d like to see how many of these registered guns were used in crimes. Now go one step further with the outright prohibition of guns, as many seem to believe would be the answer. Think of the costs involved with such an undertaking, the long gun registry, where it actually cost the owner to register each gun still managed to cost billions of dollars. The policing, documentation, collection and disposal for the prohibition of guns would also reach billions in no time. And that of course would only work if people willingly hand over their firearms. Surely they would have to be compensated for their loss and at the expense of whom? If not, I doubt many people would be willing to hand over their guns for nothing. Criminals would simply not comply, and the number of guns on the street would not be any less. In fact it’s more likely the number of guns in the hands of criminals would increase; many gun owners, who have a considerable amount of money tied up into their hobby, when faced with getting nothing for their gun, or in most cases guns, would search for ways to sell them. The underground market for guns would without any doubt explode overnight.
