Nah, I'm just totally bummed out that not only did this tragedy happen, but every fucking douchebag in the world thinks their opinions could have saved them, and their posts/comments/rants read as such. How people can just turn this into a selfish argument when the kids bodies weren't even cold blows me away, but hey- that's the internet age for you. Everybody's got all the answers, even if they don't ever do a goddam thing to make anything happen they'll scream and yell on the internet all night as if it mattered. Look at this shitshow of a thread- has anything positive come of it? Not a goddam thing. .
Not just that, but I think there were VERY few people who even mentioned mental health. Everyone else is just spewing off about guns and gun control, having spinoff arguments, talking about random shit and having the usual NS arguments. Yeah, you guys really opened the world's eyes here. Bravo.
It's just hilarious, sad, and actually kind of embarassing to be "into the internet" at a time like this. Every message borad in the world is churning with fucking mondday morning QBing asspipes running their mouths. Look at it this way- if you were in a room with one of the parents of the victims of this tragedy, would you feel comfortable voicing your opinions on how this could have been prevented? I surely hope not. But, alas, I'm wasting my breath again. People nowadays assume that everything is everyone's business, and they just walk around throwing their .02 into anything that catches their fancy, murdered children or not. I guess I shoudn't be surprised that the human condition of self-importance should have a limit, but nonetheless it's pretty heartbreaking to see what people are articulating in these terrible times.
So you'd rather nobody voice their opinion after something like this happens? You have got to be kidding me. As little as individual opinions get done, these are things that need to be talked about, or else history will simply repeat. Again and again and again. And every time you'll be the one saying "don't use this as a time to voice your opinion"
No, but a smidge of humility would go a long way now and then.
Recognizing that your opinion doesn't mean shit sometimes isn't an admission that your opinions in general don't matter, it's just an observation of respect in times where, well, yeah, your opinion means nothing. Why express it then? Boredom? Haven't you ever kept something to yourself because it need not be said? Personally for me, that time is now. My opinion won't amount to a hill of fkn beans and the most important issue at this moment is taking stock of my blessings and making this holiday one to remember for those I love anyways.
I've been seeing the same reaction though. That same entitled "Well I want to rant, and this happened, so it's obviously my time to shine" bullshit and it just makes me incredibly sad to think that all anyone cares about is getting their point across. Have fun posting memes, funny videos and enduring non-related rants galore, I'm out again. I am truly sorry to have come back at all.
