So I ordered something from backcountry.com and they sent it to me in Austria, Europe. When it arrived, I was not at my home address, and this meant that it could not be delivered.
Later on, I had a phone call (in terrible broken German) from the man dealing with my delivery, saying that he could come back the next day, if I was going to be there to pay the customs duty, which turned out to be around 48% of the retail price (what the fuck, regulations), or he could leave it at the UPS storage at the airport. I explained that I would not be back at my residence for at least 5 days, and we agreed that he would send it to the airport for me to pick it up.
This week (got back here on Saturday) I have been really busy trying to understand enough of the shit I need to know for my exam, which was today, and didn't think I would have enough spare time to pick it up, so I didn't waste the valuable hours (potential revision-time) it takes to get to the airport and back.
Now I check the status of my package on UPS order tracking, and it says (from 12/05/2012) that it will be stored and must be picked up within five business days. The guy on the phone didn't mention this, and, as much as it is my fault for not checking my order status, I really hope that my order hasn't been sent back to the US. Fuck.
What do you think they will have done with my package? Will it remain here until I collect it? They have my phone # so maybe they will contact me if I haven't picked it up. Maybe it's already on the way and I will pay a load of cash for their trouble. Shitty shit.
