Can t3i shoot timelapses internally?

I'm thinking about borrowing my buddies t3i for the meteor shower on thursday as a 3rd camera for a timelapse.  Can the t3i shoot timelapses internally (timer) or do you need an intervalometer?

you need an intervalometer or ML downloaded on one of your memory cards. ML has an intervalometer setting.

Thanks man.  Do you think a BestBuy would sell an intervalometer?  We don't have much for camera stores here.

I dont think you can find that kinda thing at best buy/radioshack/staples. I think your best bet would either be to find a camera shop or overnight one off amazon. they are fairly cheap. mine was like 8.99 and does the job just fine.

might actually be wrong on this. i can find remotes but not intervalometer. not sure then. good luck

Why not just go with Magic Lantern? It's free and you don't have to go to the store nor wait for shipping.

This. Its free, and its much better than an intervalometer. Plus best buy probably wouldn't have one.

Thanks for the input guys.  I just convinced my buddy to go with Magic Lantern as it's a better system for his camera and free.
