There is a direct correlation between long hair(flow), hockey, and being a prick at my school. They regularly argue with me that skiing is for pussys, though they do not know what park skiing or freeskiing is. To make it better our team absolutly blows. I have nothing against hockey players, except that they tend to act like douches at my school...
If you arent on any sort of ski team or compete in freestyle than it kinda isn't a sport...more of a hobby unless you do some serious skiing like hiking trips, huge expeditions, etc. Hockey is a sport that isn't for pussies. Some of my best friends play hockey/lax have the flow etc soem of the best dudes I know. You prob are some little skinny punk who can't play other sports anyways
Im on a team, i run track, and play soccer for the provincial team. I have friends that are hockey players too but they dont have to be so cocky about it. There egos are just to huge
when i played hs hockey i can't say that anyone was really a douchebag to any other kids, but to be fair - it is really hard to explain that you ski to someone, when i tell someone i ski, i get interperated as i wear a tight 1 piece and bomb down the hill. How do you explain to someone that you freeski if they dont know a thing about skiing or park?
For some reason the op is right. And this is coming from someone who played hockey verycompetitively for over 15 years. I played with the same group of guys from when I was 3 all the way to 18. Some of my team mates were the definition of a douchebag. Honestly, even though were were team mates, I hated a majority of them, and coincidentally all the players that I hated had long hair.
When I played HS hockey there was 1 or 2 kids on every team that just took every hockey stereotype to the next level. I was captain I made it clear that if anyone used fucking GEL to flow there hair they weren't allowed on the damn bus. Its always the kid that's not a terrible hockey player but not very good and they call everyone dusters and scrubs and say shit to just let people know they play hockey. Its even worse at the junior level
No, hockey players are just for the most part douchebags. They have huge egos, they use that retarded terminology like 'sauce" and "flow". They walk around the the school with an air of cockiness around them, and if you don't play hockey you're a bitch according to them.
When you take the ear pieces out of your helmet your hair comes out it and naturally kind of curls at the end. If you're a boss anyway. Always have dope flow in the winter myself for skiing/hockey. That being said the typical hockey player mentality when living up to stereotypes is pretty high on the db scale.
i feel you man, years back in my school one of the few douchebags was a hockey player (much older than me). He was just a funny guy, like he gave me and my homie shit for skateboarding and he couldnt really skate. Although i am glad he was in my school cause he was canandian and had this funny accent so we could laugh about that whenever, and he always said this one thing "dont make me come over there" ahaha
oh man up, maybe the reason they act like such douches is cause its so easy to make people like you cry and make a thread on a ski website. if they wanna act like douches just don't pay attention to them? all they are looking for is attention, and if you don't give it to them then they wont bother you.
Im friends with some current and ex hockey players, actually lived with 2 from a junior team. Yeah there are a lot of dbags in the world of hockey but also some chill dudes. D1 players are the worst. They are allowed in any bar no matter the age which makes me jealous and if youre talking to a girl at a party and a group (their always in small packs) of them walk in youre instantly a "who are you". But hey its whatever kinda use to it i guess.
when I played hockey in highschool the majority of the kids on the team weren't douches at all. Ya there were a few, but it was nothing compared to the football team. God damn they were mega douches.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL Wait until you get to college! Pray you get a D1 team AND a club team full of no-talent and limitless douchebaggery. Pussy mustaches included.
I played and coached HS hockey I can say that skiing is definitely more of a hobby hockey is at least a real sport. Free skiing is even less of a sport than racing btw I dunno why you'd use that to make it sound cooler.
If skiing is the only sport you do you don't play sports.
I didnt get enough ice time in the first 2 scrimmages my junior year of HS hockey and hated waking up for 5am practices so skiied instead (wasn't quite best skiier in the school but started every race in 2 years and made states both) but hockey is the better sport (unless you are a legit skiier and sponsored or close to it) nothing more pathetic than people who suck acting like they are good at skiing. Especially when they stay in the park all day.
Hockey is mad fun I wish I had played more ages 17-22 just so I was a bit better than I actually am I can't really keep up with people who played pro or D1.
kind of agree. the way most people "do" skiing, its not a real sport. going up 50-70 times, do 20 laps in the park, thats not really being sport.
but to be up on top these days, you probably need structured training in some way and supportive activities like going to the gym, stretching, tramp, etc.
I don't really care if they want to look like a greasy dustball, chew dip every day and eat creatine for breakfast lunch and dinner, I just hate how hockey players make up new words every fucking week then try to use them in regular conversation.
My life exactly, so many douche bag hockey players who think they are better than everyone else, there are a couple nice/chill ones but most just bug the fuck out of me. Telling me skiing isnt a sport and skiing dosent pull, hockey does blah blah blah. Recently a couple have started skiing and they love it, 6/8 are shit and they have the worst stance. No style, and one who is OK is always tling them not to take it seriously because they arent skiers they are hockey players. /endrant
