From the article: The former Beatle will join Foo Fighters singer Dave Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic on stage in New York to play a new song after secretly working with the pair. Grohl and Novoselic have not performed with each other for 20 years.

A spokesman confirmed that Grohl recently asked McCartney to come along to “jam with some mates”.

The former Beatle suggested they “just make something up” and found himself playing with Grohl on drums, bassist Novoselic and guitarist Pat Smear, who toured with Nirvana for the last six months of the band’s career.

McCartney said: “I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said: ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time?’

“And somebody whispered to me: ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”


I have no strong opinions, but I thought this was pretty interesting. Also, at the bottom check out all the crazy famous people that are playing. Cray. 12121212121212121212121212121

You can't go see sublime. You can see "sublime with rome". Actually what theyre called, brads family wouldn't release the bands name, didn't want them touring under the bands name with out him.

They're basically touring under sublime.

It's the same situation for me. Also same time period. Digging up an old band with one of the 3 dying.


Was just saying the parallels between the two situations are def there. Not that "nirvana" is doing a whole tour but still.

Yeah not trying to be a dick just seemed worth mentioning. To whoever said they wouldn't want it either I agree. I think it was dumb of them, they're making original music anyway why not just leave it be. You could still do covers and Ish if you wanted.

just because a legend is taking the place of another doesnt mean this is a great idea. paul mccartney? seriously... they shoulda got some bumfuck for drums and let dave grohl cover kurt cobain. i just cant picture paul mccartney screaming out smells like teen spirit...

Yeah. At least the rome guy with sublime sounds like nowell.

It would at least be more palatable if it was just "dave, krist, and paul performing the songs of nirvana"


But calling this a nirvana reunion? Lol wtf.

I feel like the musicians are not saying that Nirvana is reuniting.. I think its more the reporters, publicists, etc. I think the original article they mention in "The General"?? only mentions Nirvana because McCartney didn't know who they really were..

I think this is more of former Nirvana members are playing together for the first time in 20 years, just so happens that it will be with McCartney to perform a new song. At least that's how I took it.

just because there will never be the same feel as nirvana with kurt, doesn't mean that paul mccartney jamming with nirvana sans kurt isn't fucking awesome. you fanboys taking this as an insult need to pull the sticks out of your asses and realize what a truly fucking awesome collection of musical minds this is.
