Shooting at mall in Oregon

some guy starting firing is AR15 in the food court of clackamas town square. This is about 20 minutes from my house and 5 minutes from my sisters house.

What the fuck? Not sure on deaths or injuries atm

I always envision shootings like this as being designed to cause mass terror instead of mass casualties. I feel like he probably sited in on one or two people in the beginning and then just stood on the trigger and tried to keep it level.

this setting also makes for a much more difficult shot than the batman shooter. There people were trapped and he was essentially shooting into a wall of flesh.

Some kid's dad who goes to my high school was shot and killed in that mess. Really sad shit, hit pretty close to home. Really glad that nobody I really knew got caught up in that mess.

Yes. I live in portland. And I have spent a damn lot of time on what you are probably considering the "gnarly eastside" (east of 82nd), there are a lot of gnarly people out there, but there's a huge difference between a couple of robberies and a mall shooting. That takes two different types of "gnarly" and portland doesn't really have the type that would randomly shoot up a mall.

clackamas isnt like burnside or mlk. Just like all suburbs its got nice areas and poorer areas. Thats what i was getting at. its not exactly bum town

gun was stolen, so who cares how easy it is to buy guns. if more people in the mall were carrying, no one would have let him get off 60 bullets.

people shouldnt always rely on the government to protect them, because the government wont be there in the 30 seconds when you need them most. the problem here is not that a guy was able to get his hands on a big gun, its that the rest of the people werent prepared to defend themselves.

If you make it difficult to legally buy guns, it will make it a damn lot harder to illegally buy guns or steal them. That just makes sense.

People trying to be a hero is just one more gun going off in a crowded area, that's never a good idea and it makes it much more difficult for the police to identify the actual perpetrator

Truth. I am not for this spree just pointing out how retarded this guy is.

And yes, had I been there I would have at least dashed out to my car to grab my gun if I didnt have to on me to try and put this asshole down. I mean I am no hero or anything but I am not really for letting some jackoff unload rounds at people. Most likely he was a terrible shot and it would be rather easy to hold off for a reload or for him to look the other way and take him out. Hell if you had 2 people in a mall with guns it would be over... 1 guy with suppressive fire holding him down and the other guy sneaking up for the kill shot.

ok retard, that is because how lax gun laws are in the us, it trickles down. i actually live in a country with stricter gun laws and let me tell you it is not easy to buy a gun, legal or not. anyways, i dont give a fuck about you guys, ill live easy here knowing i dont have to worry about some some tweaker buying a bazooka at costco and go shooting up a fucking hospital baud.
