Shooting at mall in Oregon

some guy starting firing is AR15 in the food court of clackamas town square. This is about 20 minutes from my house and 5 minutes from my sisters house.

What the fuck? Not sure on deaths or injuries atm

You're retarded.

An AR-15's muzzle velocity is about 3200 ft per second. When the round hits something, it deforms, and starts to tumble. Why do you think the military uses it? It's a great round. Easy to shoot, good range, and does a lot of damage.

AR-15's can be bought legally in semi-auto form and it's easy to rip through a 30 round magazine, I've done it. Gun control is irrelevant in this discussion.

It comes down to the fact this person had some serious issues and whether guns are legal/illeagal something like this was pre-meditated.

I had about 15 buddies in the mall working or shopping. One guy was about 40 feet away when the shooting started. He was carrying. But jumped to cover his wife and child. But thank good ness he was not injured

yes, but a handgun or a rifle will do the trick for those. We don't need people with AR-15's and modded AK's in their houses. I understand that people want to shoot them, but leave them at the gun range. Semi-automatics aren't for hunting, they aren't for protection, they're for showing off to your friends and shooting them places where they shouldn't be shot, like a mall.

of course you can't, but it's a damn lot harder to squeeze off 60 shots with a handgun. I think people should be allowed to have guns, but justifiable guns. Can you really justify in any way having an AR-15?

yes, but if the shooter had gone in with the same frame of mind as the person in your scenario (kill as many people as efficiently as possible), the deaths would have been in the 50's, not in the 10's.

I don't mind hunting and if you live in a very rural area where you might actually use the gun responsibly that is fine. But city dwellers don't need them. Where you gonna shoot it responsibly?

And my argument is based on hearing stories of what fucked up people do from going to meetings for my problems. Lots of people when they are down can't control themselves they'll drive around in the car with an open beer all fucked up and just not care what happens.

regardless of gun laws....people who will do this sort of thing will do it anyway. Normal people don't have to worry about gun laws because they respect guns and use them properly. If anything we need less strict gun laws so people can defend themselves in this type of situation

spray and pray from the hip is my guess. Most rounds either went into the ground or into the ceiling as its incredibly difficult to maintain a level muzzle when you fire this way. If he had a been sighting in at chest level way more than two people would be dead, even if he was a terrible shot
