American Hostels

Especially in the southern half and western 3/4s of the country.

I've got the north east locked down as far as traveling. Unless there's a place that's so sick It's a must or something I know a lot of people up this way and traveling is easy.

I might take some more solo non show related adventures this summer and was just trying to figure out some good places to hit.

I'm always poor so anywhere I can go that's nice but can make my $ stretch out is what I'm lookin for.

Use priceline/hotwire to find something cheap. Hostels are usually ripoffs however you might be able to call and negotiate a better price. You can only do that at some hotels. I dunno look for a travel guide for this shit if one exists or maybe a forum thats a little more hippy-ish. What is the band you're seeing?

Hotels are expensive though, even when they have "low rates" most of the time.

Hotels you're generally looking at 50+ a night most places generally more on the +, can't see you getting a decent place for much less than 50. It's rather stay in a hostel if I'm going solo and pay around 25 bucks in places where hotels run 70-200.


I don't mind sleeping on bunk bed in a room with 10 other people. As long as they're clean which I've found much better luck than cheap hotels(That still weren't below 50 after tax)Eat some bagels or whatever in the morning there, take a shower, and move on.

In the nowhere's villes I've stayed at plenty of 25-50 hotel/motels.

Rather than throw it up on CL it'd be easier just to meet some people out and about and find my way onto a couch, camp somewhere or sleep in the car.

I've done the long stay hotel thing before too. When I was in nh at one point needing a new home(thanks masshole landlord) I stayed at a place that was 20-25 with a weekly + deal. That place was actually sweet. Was better than the hotels for that, was more of an inn. Everyone else there was 30 + but some of them were real cool.

And different bands different times. If there's a show/ tour involved finding a place is much easier. Split a hotel with a few people and shits cheap as fuck. Im looking more for the solo traveling just to travel non tour this summer.

Really just looking for more info from people on the hostels in America. Only stayed at a few and usually that's about the only time I remember they exist here.

I kind of want to open one at some point.

Dope I like the way that search is set up. Especially with the camp. A lot of times I'll just throw it up in the woods soeme where, but some places you're better off getting a site since they're so cheap, especially if you want to kick it for a couple days in an area you don't know.

Bounce around with different bands or just travel a little bit on the dirt cheap to keep things fresh.

I had heard about that site for years tried to join it last summer and it was going to make you donate 20 bucks just to join was kind of like fuck that. Also you sort of needed to have a home to offer up a couch. I don't have a problem with people crashing I just don't know where I'm going to be living. I've had decent enough luck just being friendly. Especially at shows.

I don't think you have to donate now..I'm kind of new to the whole thing. I'm not sure if you even need to be offering a couch..you might be able to just sign up without having a couch to offer someone...either way, it might be worth looking into..

Don't play in anything on the road. Unfortunately gotta choose one. I like to play, but at this point I'd rather travel and see the bands I like then try and get anything going local/regional with a band. At the same time I always have various drums in my car and get to have plenty of jam sesh's with random people. Kind of cool to just enjoy it knowing that it's just in that moment and then everyone's off to different places.

Help roadie/promote a smaller band from florida on all their northeast tours because I think they're the shit.

And groupie, groupies are sluts, they sleep with the band.



But yeah. Did a whole fuck ton of moe. tour this year. Did a good amount of shows with some other bands too. moe.'s nice because I feel like I know everybody at all the northeast shows and at least some people at other shows. Makes traveling wayyyyy easier. I could drive somewhere solo, expecting to be able to work in with some cool heads and get a place to stay. So traveling solo but not staying solo kind of thing.


Idk, that's my shit aside from mountains in the winter. If I'm not around some live music, and there isn't snow on the ground, I'll go fucking nuts and freak out.

Word that's what it was when I tried it last year. Another reason why I hate shitty people that steal from other people. There are lots of cool people out there who are down to let strangers stay, but there are plenty that don't because of fear thanks to all the sketchy shit some assholes do.

Anyone know about any Hostels in Colorado near Vail/Breck?
