What metaphysical concept should I write about?

I have a paper due yesterday, its for my metaphysics course. My prof has given 0 guidelines, says it can be an essay, a story, a poem, a play etc. about anything to do with metaphysics ranging between 1,000 and 100,000 words.

I'm bored of identity but open to suggestions. Time travel seems played out and almost pointless to discuss due to obvious paradoxes etc. Thoughts? Maybe something about consciousness?

Can you provide more detail? I understand the basic idea, not sure what I could really write about here. I just want to have a few beers and ramble away at my keyboard for a while.

Prof. teaches logic and is good at it, but for some reason also teaches metaphysics and doesn't give a shit. The grading for the class = a presentation on anything to do with metaphysics marked only by classmates, and this paper. Easy A and I probably went to 4 classes all semester.


Time travel would be easy, but what is there to say? You can't go back in time because of paradoxes... I'll probably end up writing about this if I can't think of anything else interesting.

i did a paper last year on the paradoxes of time travel, and i almost actually enjoyed writing it.

the website is basically the most reliable and informative source for just about all topics of philosophy.
it looks like theres some good stuff about time travel there. if youre interested.

Seems likely that I will do this. My presentation was on the paradoxes of time travel presented in the simpsons and futurama so i have something to go off of.
